No, Not really. I mean she was definetly a great singer but so are the 2 remaining. We have to remember that being a number 1 artist does not always mean you have the best voice. It usually means you have a voice that is appealing to others. I mean lets face it BLEEP Jagers voice is many things besides perfect. But somehow he has made worldwide appeal. Both the 2 finalist left had more appeal than Melinda.

I wonder, if Melinda could beatbox would she have made it through to the end. She was a great singer, but I think she lacked star quality... the show ain't called "American Singer" so I wasn't too shocked.

she should have been gone earlier, yeah she has a good voice but so did gina. And i personally think gina had a better personality and could actually grow with each comment made to her. malinda you get one thing, that church lady, who can bring a specail song for that one speical preformance. whoop dee doo she gone, let's just hope someone realizes that jodrin isn't she's all cracked up to be either. blake has something specail about him, unlike half the poeple who made it into the top 4. yikes this season was really boring.

Anyone in the business knows that it isn't all about the voice. Appearance, marketability, personality, attitude and performance mean just as much if not more. The voters on this show are mainly in the 12-25yr old range. That gives contestants like Jordin and Blake an upper hand because they relate better to the voting group. In my opinion.....this show has become a venue for people with talent to at least get seen, get their name out there and possibly get the break they might not have gotten without making it to the top ten of American Idol. If it is meant for these people to become entertainers then they shall get that chance. (Read as: Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken, Tamyra Gray, Diana DiGarmo, etc.) If not, they won't (Read as Reuben, Taylor Hicks, etc.)
