Brigham and Women's Hospital will begin performing partial face transplants on
certain disfigured patients. Do you believe face transplants should be used for
cosmetic purposes?

This is a very tough one, but I'll say "yes." I've seen severely disfigured people out in public, and quite honestly, I don't want to look at them. I'm a sponge for the pain and suffering of others. A face transplant still makes a person look a bit "Frankensteinish" (if you will) but it sure beats the alternative if they're in such tough shape that they needed a transplant in the first place. Yes, if someone wants a face transplant, I say give it to them.

Yes

With the Country at war there are more disfigured faces that ever. People need options and this type of operation has to start happening for it to be an option.

The first people to have it done will most likely get this done for free in a research atmosphere.

For those disfigured by birth defect or tramautic accident, I say this should be part of the normal medical treatment. If you just don't like your face, I say, stand in line for the first available "non-emergency" slot and break out your checkbook.

I'm late to the party on this one but I have to reply.

YES, I think face transplants are a wonderful innovation.

My only question: WILL BRIGHAM AND WOMEN'S BE TAKING SUGGESTIONS ON POSSIBLE TRANSPLANT RECIPIENTS??
