The Roger Clemens-Brian McNamee hearings were compelling television. It was also fun to live chat with many of you while the hearings were going on. But really, what did this all accomplish?

Certain Congressman took advantage of their time in the spotlight (Indiana's Dan Burton was the strongest going after Brian McNamee.."I know one thing I don't believe and that's you", but he did come across as a Clemens apologist). Others simply wasted their time and ours (Mass. Stephen Lynch boring us with medical documents and a botched shot in Roger's butt).

We got to see both Clemens and McNamee under the hot lights of interrogation and in the end McNamee is the clear winner in my opinion. Roger stammered and hesitated during most of his answers. And using the word "misremembers" so many times was horrible. It actually is a word according to dictionary.com, but who the heck uses that word in conversation. McNamee may not be so credible either but compared to Clemens he at least answered questions directly and seemed as confident as Roger seemed confused.

So what did we accomplish here? Not much besides getting to see Roger squirm under oath. It will be interesting to see what happens from here. It doesn't seem like Roger committed perjury in any way, but we will find that out in the weeks to come. Spring training starts this weekend and my guess is that baseball will go on and Roger will fade out of the spotlight.

This is the best TV I have seen in a long, long time. This even tops the last 3 minutes of the Superbowl.

Oh yeah....once again the Nanny buries a man.

Butch,

Just finished watching the hearings, and I definitely believe Roger Clemens did steroids, and proves Clemens is a liar. The chairman did an interview after the hearings and said he doesn’t believe Roger Clemens and that McNamee was credible. He also said just because a person lied doesn’t mean he committed perjury. Right now Clemens Attorneys are doing BIG TIME DAMAGE CONTROL. What a joke, ACTUALLY LAUGHABLE.

Roger Clemens:
LIAR,
LIAR,
LIAR!!!!

Butch,

Forgot this, the chairman comes out and said the only reason why they had this meeting was because Roger Clemens wanted it. The committee was happy to write a report and be done with it. Clemens Attorneys are saying they didn't want this hearing. OMG!! no wonder why Clemens lied. He wouldn't know the truth if it came up and bit him right on his big fat lying butt. Even the Attorneys don’t know what their talking about….LOL

Talk about being totally discombobulated. WOW!!!!

Butch,

Great theatre indeed!

I liked the part when McNamee was denying that he was a drug dealer, only to be forced into admitting he was one. Funny stuff!

Why does McNamee have such a gripe with Clemens? I mean to come forward with such harsh accusations that can potentially ruin a mans career!?

Brutal stuff here!

Butch,

Only ONE thing was proven....that Congress is actually more egotistical than Clemens....Isn't their job t pass laws and law enforcement's job to investigate crime?

DUH!!!!

Chip,

I agree. It was funny watching a baseball legend answering to congress. I was waiting for Ted Kennedy to walk in and start screaming at the rocket.

Got a good laugh!

Butch,

This was the same committee that brought in Billy Bulger in 2003.

The same committee that saw Bulger have a serious lapse of memory (Bulger couldn't recall the day FBI Agents visited his housing looking for Whitey, for example).

Now we have people mis-remembering things.

Does anyone tell the truth to this Committee?

Bob Ward

PS I predict Clemens' fate will be sealed when the tests come back on the syringes.

Can't believe Rog is risking jail over this.

Bob,

I think its a possibility the Rocket could be framed by Mcnamee. The syringes are very old as far as I know. But if he is guilty his name will be trashola for ever!

What does McNamee have to gain by all of this? Am I missing something?

What will those cocky, classless, Giants fans say if Clemens is as guilty as sin??

CHEATER!!!!

We may have some serious mud to throw at them for years to come! And a great video to reciprocate.

We'll see.

Butch,

I think Clemens really thought that he was going to have a cake walk today at the hearing, he figured everyone was going to believe all that crap he’s been spewing about how innocent he is and his reputation has been smeared. Instead he was shocked that some of these Senators and Congressman had trouble BELIEVING HIM. He couldn’t stand the fact these people didn’t believe him and became unglued and argumentative. After all, who wouldn’t believe Roger Clemens? Yeah right!! I really enjoyed watching Clemens squirm when they questioned his time line on injections and Andy Pettitte and his wife’s affidavits.

How would you like to be Mrs.Clemens? He even thru her under the bus. BooHoo it wasn’t me, it was Debbie, Debbie did it, I wasn’t even home….What a joke!!!

Clemens should never be allowed into the Hall Of Fame.

First should the YANKGEES championships an World Series rings be taken back from Roger Dodger an the rest of the YANGEE'S Chuck Knoblock, Petite, Clemens an Giambi all used performing enhancing drugs...

2nd by the looks of the hearing our Congressmen an women they should be the ones using performance enhancing drugs an they have more important things to do! But most of all they should have had Bud Selig an the team owners an the Union reps there grilling them!!!!!! for their conspiracy to cover up the dirty lies that is obvious thats has been happening remember Mark McGuire an Sammie Sosa the MLB 10xs their profits an made BILLIONS during all this HGH AN STYEROID debacle an I believe Major League Baseball was loving it!!!!!!!

Dan Burton whats up with this guy? he rants against McNamee about Jose Conseco house Party an about Roger being there..The Committee asked the Roger an his legal team for the Nanny's name the refused to give up her name....on Friday by Sunday Roger an his legal team had her flown to Texas note: TAMPERED WITH THE WITNESS] on Monday the Committee finally gets her name from the Clemens legal team an the committee deposes her an she says not only was roger there at Canseco's they also slept over an didn't leave till Sunday!!!!

Roger also lies about having any discussion about HGH or Steroids with McNamee was asked 3XS in deposotion! then later i the deposition he describes ROGER about Debbie's reaction to the injection of HGH into Debbie Clemens an Clemens searches McNamee's luggage an calls McNamee an yells at him about the reaction Debbie was h

No doubt Roger Clemens is a remakable athlete. I feel that his arrogance and in ability to deliver a straight forward response to any question asked leaves questions in most peoples minds.
As a result should Mr Clemens be denied a position in the Hall of Fame possibly the state house? He could raise more taxes and no one would understand how it happened.

Congressmen love to rub elbows with famous people and love tv attention. There is no doubt Congress wanted these hearings.

This syringe DNA evidence is a joke. Did McNamee keep the syringes in the crushed beer can or just next to it in the same box for seven years? We don't know how secure the syringes were all this time or if they were tampered with in some way.

I'd be surprised if Roger didn't do steroids. But, McNamee and his ''evidence'' aren't credible at all.

Ok, I posted something quite lengthy on here yesterday, but Fox decided my opinion didn't matter as much as others, I guess.

I'll shorten my previous post to say this is all very sad.

Clemens was our first real pitcher and I'll be forever grateful to him. Did you forget the Bob Stanley and Oil can Boyd days?
I believe he's innocent and if he isn't, then it's his body that will suffer the long term effects.

There is one question that haunts me a bit. Now, remember, I am NO Rger fan. He lost me years ago when he whined during contract negotiations about carrying his own bags at the airport. But let me run this scenario past yu guys for sme feedback:

Brian McNamee injects Roger with HGH during the rehab of an injury WITHOUT TELLING ROGER. He does this to speed up the rehab and make himself look like the best trainer in the world, knowing Clemens would refer him to everyone.

Make any sense?

Butch,

Just curoius, who let's a fellow employee, go into THEIR bedroom when their not home, with THEIR wife, and inject drugs into THEIR wife's but???

While I don't think we will ever have enough solid evidence to convict Clemens, in my book he used steriods.

McNamee caught Clemens in bed with his wife.

Do you remember yesterday when Senator Burton slammed McNamee about saving the syringes and gauze pads all these years? Why didn’t he ask Clemens why he saved a golf receipt for 10 years?

just maybe I watch too much "law and order" but...syringes saved in a bag for years, by a person other than the police dept? come on...the very police get their evidence discredited, much more easily than that. the only evidence they have is a man's word against the other. I believe Roger is guilty(too much about nothing) but there's just no proof, and Congress is just looking for the glory of the press!!
how about this song...(pretty woman lyrics)
Cheater Roger, the steroids got you beat,
Cheater Roger and Congress, time to meet.
Cheater Roger...
I don't believe you, you're not the truth...
noone can lie as well as you....mercy!
oooooooooooh....Cheater Roger!!!

Got an opinion? I'd love to hear it....I've got a few myself and there's a pretty good chance you don't agree with some of them, so let's hear from you.
