Gaza's militant Hamas has been continually launching rockets into Israeli border regions, and it appears it is to disrupt any kind of peace between Palistine and Israel.  There have been efforts by the U.S. to bring the two to the table and try to negotiate some kind of agreements, but Hamas' two top officials, Ahmad Youssef, and Mushir al-Masri continually block the efforts by continuing the attacks on Israel in spite of Palestine's President Abbas requesting a cease-fire in order to have the peace talks take place.  Abbas, it is clear, has very little control over Hamas and has just about none in Gaza.

Things came to a halt when Israel recently decided to take strong military action against the constant barrage of rockets.  The response to this by Hamas is to blame Israel.  Many Gazan citizens have been killed as a result of Israeli forces targeting Hama's strongholds...which are in the middle of populated areas.  Inotherwords, Hamas uses its people as shields.  This tactic is useful when non-militant people die and they can make Israel look like monsters...but, we aren't suppose to talk about all the people they've killed with their rocket fire.

Now, the U.S. has gone to Egyptian officials requesting they pressure Hamas to cease fire and allow the talks to continue.

The response?  Hamas won't co-operated unless they have half control of the borders between Egypt and Palestine, which they haven't had for a long time.  Right now, the border is closed and Gaza is hurting because of it.  Officials in Israel believe this is because Hamas uses that border to bring in their miltary supplies and if they have control, there will be no end to the attacks on Israel.

Now, here's the sad part; in order to get the Saudis to help in the peace process, we had to pay them!  What the...?  Aren't they suppose to be our allies?  What a farce!  Is there any Country that will stand behind us without being bribed?  All we ever do is dole out billions of dollars to these snakes-in-the-grass and we get absolutely nowhere...except maybe poorer.

On top of everything, we've spent trillions in Iraq, not to mention lives, in order to bring some kind of peace and democracy to them, and now they're in bed with Iran?  In spite of everything Iran is doing...which is supplying terrorists with weapons...Iraq is still trading with them!  President Amajahdeen (sp?) has pulled a quicky by going to Iraq to try to solidify their "brotherhood", as he called it. Hah!  I think its time to re-think what the heck we are doing!

In addition, we've had to warn American's living/working in Beirut, Lebanon today because U.S. officials fear there is a plot by rebel militants to attack the U.S. Embassy there, and any American citizens.

And the list goes on.....

So, my question is, do we really have any allies?  And, why aren't these countries paying us for the protection we give them?!

I don't think we have any true allies either, C_Fox. And I wonder if we should maybe quit protecting these countries who take it for granted. Once they see that their lives are a living hell without our help, maybe they'll show a little gratitude. And, for all you people who're sitting at the computer saying "How will we get gas then?", I say we open part of ANWAR for drilling. I think the polar bears will survive. We know the snow and permafrost will too.

You ma not be paying attention but our Allies like Australia who have their own problems with Radical Islam have been helping us an fighting it on their own soils...the U.K. Canada an many other continents too but we are surrounded for sure globally by Radical Islam...there is 1.2 Billion Muslims 15% have been radicalized that 150 Million ruffly half of the U.S. Population an a hell of lot more who agree an support Radical Islam 20-3040-50% like in the U.K. where 50% of them want SHARIA LAW an not British law...thats their plan to flod host countries with sheer numbers then claim autonomy self rule..they tried this in Canada in 1 province a few years ago an the Canadians have finally got the message an are passing laws against Sharia...but not calling it Sharia...The Saudis talk out of the corners of their mouths an lie through their smiles..they have been sending MILLIONS in Radical Islam literature an Jihad materials to a town near Toronto...an are building another SUPER MOSQUE there also like in the U.K. thats their goal..read their plan i found on Radical Islamic websites THE UMMAH G.U.M. for short. http://www.altway.freeuk.com/Revival/30c-Revial-3.htm

Fisher, I agree wholly, as to their modus operandi when it comes to how they will take over the world. But, remember, this is a religious war, and there is an equal number of Christians in the world, too,...in fact, Christians slightly outnumber them...and that is one of our strengths against Islamic fanatics.

I am aware that we do have allies, like Britain and Canada and Australia, but they are doing no better than ourselves in the effort to hold back the infiltrators from the MiddleEastern countries. And the reason for this is, imho, is that Democracy seems to work against itself when "freedoms" is the word of the day. Our enemies use it like a sword and shield to get what they want. We need to stop being appeassors and get really tough with them. We should know there will be no middleground, no tolerance by them, but only their way or nothing. So why do we keep trying? Why do we allow them to take over our cultures and traditions? If its in the name of 'peace' then we are only fooling ourselves.

Cut off aide to these countries that stab us in the back! If Iraq is going to trade with Iran, who is in truth, an enemy of the Democratic-style government trying to get established there, then we are totally screwed in any further efforts we make in that area. The thing is, we are over a barrel because of oil. I think our chief goal should be independence concerning energy; if we could get to that place we could let them all do themselves in over there and become somewhat of a soveriegn nation again.

C_Fox, when it comes to Iraq trading with Iran, I think that if that comes to pass, we might as well pack up and head home. And when it comes to oil, there is the option of the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge. There are huge deposits of oil there, and quite frankly, not a lot of animals. If we're able to show these oil-producing countries we don't need them, it'd go a long way towards getting us back on track. Once they don't have the US as a consumer of oil, they'll be the ones over the barrel. And you're right, any country that's stabbing us in the back needs to be thrown off the meal ticket. We've got enough problems here that we can use that aid money for.
