Dealing with College morons.

Once again one of our super smart, artistic college students causes a security scare by walking through Logan Airport with supposed "art".  Luckily for her the State Police at Logan showed proper restraint and did not over react.  Now the Courts will decide what is the proper punishment for our intellectual offender.  I would respectfully submit that she be given a broom and trash bag and sentenced to Harvard Square trash patrol for the remainder of her MIT education.  Have her spend one hour everyday including holidays and weekends picking up the trash that litters our public ways.  Maybe if we started to get back to basic disipline and took some of these supposedly intelligent individuals and showed them what respect and hard work are we would see some changes in our society.  Too many pampered children filling our halls of education who have no respect for anyone but themselves.

Here's the thing that gets me. LED technology is at such a point right now that it can be implanted into pretty much anything. Companies like Shenzhen produce t-shirts, handbags, necklaces, belt buckles, hats, wristbands, badges, and even bras and underwear with LED panels sewn in that can display words or pictures programmed in by the buyer.

I knew these things exists, and when I see them I do not feel leery. I don't think they're the classiest fashion statement, but they're not bombs.

This who situation made me realize how poorly trained out security is. I'm sure they're all more then proficient marksmen, and I'm sure they can yell in a very forceful manner. I bet they're great at beating people up, and administering handcuffs. As for they're ability to discriminate between threatening situations and innocuous situations--I'm very disappointed.

You may not agree, because you have not had any prior exposure to clothes with LED technology, but I'm relatively confident if you had you wouldn't be reacting this way.

Why is this so difficult for people to understand? LED technology? If you are smart enough to attend MIT, wouldnt you think she would have enough sense not to attach a circuit board with a visible battery to her shirt and enter Logan. Logan Airport or any airport is not the place to make fashion statements that may be taken as a threat to public safety. She's a dope...period and deserves full prosecution. She knowingly did this to get attention, and now she should get the attention she deserves....from the justice system...LED technology? ...Whats next diffused hand grenade necklaces? Wake up.
