There is a great movement I have been reading about recently.  It is called "Daughters of Abraham" and it is a group of Christian, Jewish and Muslim women who meet on a regular basis to discuss the similarities and differences in their faiths.  I believe it was started in the Northeast following 9/11.  There are chapters popping up everywhere, though, including here in North Texas.   Here is an excerpt from their website detaling the "rules":

Principles for Interreligious Dialogue

1. Enter into dialogue so that you can learn and grow; not to change the other.

2. Everyone must be honest and sincere, even if that means revealing discomforts with your own tradition or that of the other. Everyone must assume that everyone else is being equally honest and sincere.

3. Everyone must be permitted to define their own religious experience and identity, and this must be respected by others.

4. Don't feel that you are the spokesperson for your entire faith tradition or that you ought somehow to know everything there is to know about it. Admit any confusion or uncertainty you might have if a puzzling question arises.

5. Don't assume in advance where points of agreement or disagreement will exist. 6. Everyone should be willing to be self-critical.

7. All should strive to experience the other's faith "from within" and be prepared to view themselves differently as a result of an "outside" perspective.

8. Trust is a must.

Isn't this great?

Maybe, just maybe, this can be the small pebble that leads to a snowball of tolerance and coexisting on this world that God gave us all.

"Christian, Jewish and Muslim women who meet on a regular basis to discuss the similarities and differences in their faiths."

TOLERANCE? While these ppl are on the path to eternal hell and separation from God?! Is that what the Bible calls Christians to do??!! Hardly. We are told, that we have nothing in common with 'the world'.
Tolerance for evil and those against the true God, is not tolerable to God.

I don't believe they are on that path. Judaism and Isalm are not evil my friend, and, dare I say it, all worship the same God. I still think that this kind of thing is much healthier for our society than exclusion and condemnation.

No, D, they do not all worship the same God! Your ignorance is showing.

What you have here is simple ecumenical offshoot. What began as a 1960's movement by the World Council of Churches is still spreading its filth and errors today.

In the ecumenical movement the truth is sacrificed for a false sense of "we're all one." The truth is that ecumenism has come to mean "reducing all elements of faith to the lowest common denominator. God's Word is neglected, experience is valued above truth, a false and selfish "faith" is promoted, and sound doctrine and correction are despised as "divisive" and "unloving."

Take that and embrace it if you will, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

"My ignorance is showing"....thanks. Me and my house also serve the Lord. Regardless of what you may think, and we don't agree, which is fine, I still say this kind of dialogue is important and helpful, and Jesus certainly would have approved of it.

First, God defines how He will be worshiped, not the traditions or imaginations of the created (man).

Second, Those who define good and evil based on social trends, history, or the teachings of man have created a god in their own image, which is defined idolatry.

Third, "tolerance" is just a cute little way of being able to get away with standing for absolutely nothing.

All worship the same god? Islam has NO 'Son of God', i.e., they can't possibly worship the same 'god'.
There is but one true God, in 3 persons. THAT is not islam. Their 'god' is in fact, satan himself, as the Bible makes very clear.

And the Bible says the worship of 'false gods' is evil, as are those who partake.

To join any group to 'come together' in that manner you mentioned, is foolishness and rather disgusting to God, UNLESS your purpose is to tell them the truth of salvation.
