John McCain and Barack Obama both appeared before the nation's newspaper editors yesterday. The putative Republican presidential nominee was given a box of doughnuts and a standing ovation. The likely Democratic nominee was likened to a terrorist.

At a luncheon for the editors hosted by the Associated Press, AP Chairman Dean Singleton quizzed Obama about whether he would send more troops to Afghanistan, where "Obama bin Laden is still at large?"

"I think that was Osama bin Laden," the candidate answered.

"If I did that, I'm so sorry!" Singleton said.

"This," Obama told the editors, is "part of the exercise that I've been going through over the last 15 months."

McCain's moderators, the AP's Ron Fournier and Liz Sidoti, greeted McCain with a box of Dunkin' Donuts. "We spend quite a bit of time with you on the back of the Straight Talk Express asking you questions, and what we've decided to do today was invite everyone else along on the ride," Sidoti explained. "We even brought you your favorite treat."

McCain opened the offering. "Oh, yes, with sprinkles!" he said.

So how's that for the liberal media???

Sorry, but I don't see what point you're trying to make?
The question TO Obama was NOT from the media, but a participate ... it was funny, which is how Osama Hussein Obama took it (but did, of course try to twist it to get sympathy.) Could you not recognize that??
Secondly, the first person to screw up his name as "Osama Obama" was Dem. TED KENNEDY.

Donuts?? You're kidding.
Do you read the NY Times... which grandly & loudly endorsed McC and then turned less than 4 wks later to indicted him with an obvious lie, which they had by their own words, been "holding back for 2 months"?

The bias is there - and it's NOT slanted toward any Republican.

Chard, my tongue is firmly planted in my cheek on this one. It is not a serious complaint, but rather a funny aside about what happened during the AP meeting. But, also just to gently reming folks that there is some conservative bias out there in the media world.

If anyone finds a news station that isn't bias, please let me know, I'll switch in a heartbeat !

I'm so tired of hearing those three candidate names, that I don't watch news on tv anymore. I just get my info. on the computer, that way I have a choice.
