At this point in such a lame election cycle, I am tempted to get a Jeb Bush write-in campaign going...

Facts about the GW Bush administration:

GW Bush *NEVER* attacked another country without Congressional approval. Clinton did and Carter did.

GW Bush *NEVER* used the US military against our own citizens. Clinton did in Waco.

GW Bush *NEVER*  was impeached. Clinton was.

These are some pretty hefty reasons to keep the Bush dynasty alive. I am a Constitutionalist at heart and am quite satisfied at the way the Bush clan has revered and cherished our Constitution in real time.. while being VERY disgusted at the Clinton treatment of our Constitution.

Spending habits of twice-elected President GW Bush aside, I give him an A+ for supporting our Constitution and would welcome Jeb as our next president if only he would do the right thing and run.

Excuse me as I almost spit out the milk I was drinking at the time while reading this post. In one of your previous posts you stated that the GOP better wise up or you'd be voting for Ron Paul, yet you state here that the Bush dynasty needs to be kept alive because GW had such great "respect" for the Constitution. Ummm hello....warrant less wiretapping of American citizens anyone? Trying to hold American citizens indefinitely without access to legal counsel anyone? A backer of the unitary executive theory, and someone who had no respect for the separation of powers, who viewed Congress with utter contempt? A true Ron Paul supporter would never EVER want a continuation of the Bush regime.

His points are still factual chris....

A guy who claims to be a constitutionalist at heart, a guy who has said he is seriously considering voting for Ron Paul would simply never vote for continuing the Bush legacy, because the philosophy of the two men are completely different. As to giving Bush a pass on his spending habits, or more specifically his lack of "fortitude" to tell his own party in Congress to stop spending like drunken sailors is a SIGNIFICANT reason that the GOP lost control of Congress in '06, and is nothing to be giving anyone a pass over.

Thanks Chip. I only have to make it through one more of my own blog entries like this... one where I want to vote for Alan Keyes. Then that is it. I swear :)

Ahumbleman, some of your points are valid but some are taken right out of the Bush Derangement Syndrome playbook. I can show you where the bodies of the children massacred at Waco are buried. Can you show me an American citizen who has been wiretapped?

Florida has done well under Jeb and the USA has done well under GW. I scoff at 9 trillion in debt as there are dozens of countries worse off than us.. mostly European. Yeah it is nice to not have debt, but 9 trillion is nothing. A few years of drilling in the arctic will wipe that out. What is the UK going to do? They have eight trillion in national debt, a fifth of our population, and no natural resources or industry to speak of. Many European countries are in the same boat. We are LOADED with oil, anthracite, lumber, Hollywood, and the Silicon Valley and have five times the population of most any European country.

But to get back to my headline, yeah, I would like a Ron Paul who isn't stupid enough to want to pull out of the Congressional-approved invasion of Iraq... and I would also like a Bush dynasty successor who doesn't lean to the left every now and again with disgusting socialist programs like GW does.

It is near impossible to have perfection in any candidate, but in my humble opinion, if you can keep your eye on what is most important to you, not what scares you the most, then a person can make a better vote choice and maybe someday all these othe

I guess I'm not allowed to say what I truly wanted to so I just say Bull! When you were talking about george bush, it sounded like perfection. It just seemed like more flip flopping.

When you post a response THEN the system asks you to log in, your post will not show up even though it says it is going to approval stage and all looks normal. At any rate I didn't remove any posts for the record. Judging by some posts that have gone through here (that I did have to delete for nastiness and personal attacks) I don't think they moderate anything other than severe vulgarity.

Back to topic.

The Bush dynasty is not perfection by any means. They lean too far to the left for me to consider them perfect. They are, however, respectful of the Constitution. When the Bush administration attacks a country, they have always asked Congress for permission. Clinton never asked before he attacked Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan or occupied and did battle in Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Albania, Haiti.. and I know I am missing some...

The Second Amendment has enjoyed new life under the Bush administration and for the amount of mud slung at the administration, you have to admire the utter respect and restraint shown towards the First Amendment.

Jeb Bush's track record is less to the left than any of the current GOP candidates except Paul and Keyes. I already stated that Paul's foreign policy stinks out loud and I would only vote for him to show the other candidates how important the Constitution is to people like myself.

The Keyes post is forthcoming.
