Hey Everyone at Fox,

Please let Representative Mr. Frost know, thanks but no thanks on the Gas Tax so called Holiday.

The last thing we need is a meaningless short term fix like this that will only bring greater price shock just in time for Labor Day. There are record profits being made by the oil companies and there is a record surplus available in this country. Whay aren't the polticians being held accountable for the lack of action against the profiteers that exist in this business? Unless most of them are enjoying the benfits that come from protecting these companies.

I understand that there are no easy answers but the last thing we need is a feel good fix like this that really has no substance. What are we going to do in September when the tax relief is over? What will the real price of gas be then? And what will be the ramifications? Let's see, summer will be over, everyone who thought they could afford to do things with the family now has to deal with the reality of record prices for gas and home heating oil just in time for fall/winter. Now that sounds like the recipe for a healthy economy, huh!!!!

Again, thanks but no thanks!!!

I'm for it an here's why if the Democrats take the White House an pull out our troops Iran will swoop in an take over Iraq then we will be paying $8-$10.00 Dollars gallon if Iran drives down through the Saudi Peninsula like their plan calls for...we will be paying $10-$15 dollars a gallon might as well get what we can right now! an remember the good old days when gas was at $3.39 gallon....

"Iran will take over Iraq", well they already have what basically amounts to a puppet government in Iraq that American troops are supporting, I doubt they'll want to take it over outright.

Why do they not do something? The sad fact is some of them think that high gas prices will force us to alternative fuels that can not compete with the price of gas today. Others are making money from the high prices. Either way we are screwed.

We could save 1/5 of the cost if companies went to a 4 day work week and governments did the same.

Think high performance Electric Cars.

4:40pm Weds.....watch for another spike in gas prices. A gas tanker just rolled over on Main St. in Stoneham....spilling it's fuel.

Gas Stations in the area were already changing their prices while citizens slupped up the spillage with straws.

The only thing a gas tax holiday will do is take much needed money away from infrastructure.

While I would love a discount at the gas station, the roads in Massachusetts are in critical need of repairs. This tax holiday would take money out of the wrong pocket.

ahumbleman...oh your dead wrong what Iran's goals are....1999 August Iranian Revolutionary Guard meets with Bin Ladin and makes a pact to take down the United States. Then Hezbollah takes out Khobar Towers....during Israel's probe of its borders 2 summers ago in Lebanon Bin Laden's kid was seen walking around freely he was suppose to be under house arrest in Iran or Syria....it's all part of the return of Persian Rule over the WORLD by the chosen on President Ahmadinejad....

Jimk243 The money is there they are misspending an there is fraud going on right now on the highway repairs or milking the jobs...it was in the papers about the road repairs right now [ongoing] are being misused an you probably can add PAID POLICE DETAILS on the site's across this State as part of the cost overruns.....they are turning into a whole bunch of BIG DIGS i just wonder if they have a portable golf range in a BEKINS MOVING VAN that travels with the State Police FROM SITE TO SITE like they had that fixed golf range at the BIG DIG SITE...recently in the news.

Northern Observer, there is no hope we are screwed...alternative energy cant possibly work CORN would be sucked up by ethanol then the foods prices will sky rocket as corn is depleted for energy.... COAL is the only immediate answer! we sit on one of the biggest veins of it in the country....this would bail us out with out relying on supplemental foreign oil....we used to mine coal here they abandoned it....The Greenies would have a fit....

With SUPER PROFITS,do you really think Mobil/Exxon,Shell/Texico,or any other Oil Company is going to work on alternatives?
When their Presidents make over a kool million a year?Or More!.When the companies make over 5 million a quarter?EACH!And climbing!Come on,be real.Unless we stop using so much a day, these prices will never go down. Those reserves are for the military usage. In case of a war in the US.If the fuel is cut off,we will have oil to fight until we get the ones that cut it off out of the way.All these fighters and tanks use
alot of fuel.A carrier uses I think 10,000plus gal/day to fly these jets. But everyone against the war will make comment on why we need to come home.If we do,I promiss that terrorists will be on US soil in less than 1 year.
The war will be on US SOIL.

The Citgo station just North of Gillette Stadium on Route 1 is limiting gas purchases to $35 - which for me was 8.5 gallons. Rationing has started. Getting rid of the tax isn't going to help when you can't buy it.

Fishercat,

Tell us why it is so advantageous for us to have voted George W. Bush into office, a well known oil executive/scammer who promised us that he would work to lower energy costs, restore integrity in the White House 8 years ago and whom you continue to defend? Please do tell us that his policies both foreign and domestic are doing wonders for the American economy/American people and its future? It is the fear mongering that you subscribe to try and make us beleive in that led to the reckless invasion into Iraq costing near trillions. Who would have thought that with a president and administration that writes more checks than Americans can afford that America is better off today without Saddam Hussein? Maybe life is a bit easier for you in your secluded retreat living in rural Massachusetts but I assure you that many people who worked hard to upkeep the American dream will now struggle and probably lose it if they already haven't. Take your foot out of your mouth when you want to educate us on your understanding the world. I don't buy it especially when by your own admission you could not take living in the city and retreated to the rural areas of Massachusetts. We are going to pay a lot for energy now because Bush's policies have enabled these oil companies to make record profits. Don't forget about his origins.

reasonguy,I agree with almost all you stated above on Bush's administration. But you left out a few things.Like the 'green peace liberals' who REFUSE to let the oil companies
search for oil here. All the polititions on both sides getting being bombarded by 'special
interests'.The ones that fill 'unseen'back pockets.Like Gore, with Global Warming and all.
It may be true, but 'special interest' run this country, not the "elected".Thats why Gov.Patrick
can't get anything passed on the hill.
