This was the greatest political move in this century. Governor Sarah Palin a relatively unknown from Alaska single handily lifted the republicans spirits and took the show totally away from Obama. Initial comments from the Obama camp such as “ McCain has put the mayor of a 9,000 person town a heartbeat away from the presidency,” were viewed as totally negative and somewhat childish.

I cannot believe that they would start on the experience angle against this ticket with Obama himself only having 1½ years of Senate experience before he started running for president. Palin has 2 full years as the chief executive of the State of Alaska. If we get into conversation about the size of Alaska compared to Bidens Delaware it’s a toss up. The fact that she has taken the lead in the fight against corruption in the government of Alaska and showed both parties that she meant business is a real plus.

Governor Sarah Palin is in nobody’s pocket, she has taken on big oil and won, she told the U.S. Congress that if they needed a bridge to nowhere Alaskans would build it them selves, a slap at the foolish process of pork barrel politics practiced in the House and Senate. She has a 65% rating by the people for the job she has done in Alaska compared to a 9% approval in the Senate.

She has done the job in Alaska by reaching across party lines and bringing both republicans and democrats into important positions in her government. The most refreshing thing of all is that she is a real person who has worked her way from the PTA to City Council to Mayor and finally to Governor. Sarah Palin is truly a real everyday hardworking American and holds the finest of American values. It’s time for us to have someone who is not a Lawyer and not a Washington insider in the politics of the nation. For those of you who want change above everything else here she is, your dream candidate.

And that’s my opinion,

The slide has begun and will continue through October. By not getting a bump from the choice of Biden our friend Obama has finally peaked. Like all flash in the pans his rise to stardom has been like a rocket. I remember an old saying my dad used to tell me as I was working my way up the ladder; “Be nice to the people you meet on the way up, it’s likely you’ll meet them again on the way down.” I have always held to this theory and it has worked for me very well. I like most entrepreneurs have had a few success’s and just as many failures in my life. With out taking chances there is little chance of real success. Some of my best friends I have met along the way. I hope our friend Obama has followed this rule or he will find it very lonely in defeat.

The newly anointed Aristocrat of the Dems will find he has few friends when then levers are pulled and the sweep for McCain has been finalized. He won’t be on any ones short list come next election as Hillary has an excellent memory and will grab at the next opportunity in 2012.

The thing that the liberal elite always seem to forget is that down deep the real Americans are the ones who work each day and pay their taxes and support their families without assistance from the government. They sometimes call themselves Blue Dog Democrats or at one time they were known as Reagan Democrats. These are the people who define what our country is really about, not the Hollywood elite who have stolen their party.

In these peoples mind there is no free ride, they have worked all their lives to gain their success. They are Black, White, Red and Yellow but there are no racial lines in their world, their definition of equality is paying your way not waiting for the next free lunch to suddenly appear. I know how these people feel because I was raised in their midst.

The last election they tried hard to put one of their own in power, John Kerry came on strong but faded in the stretch when the real people who are seldom polled came out to vote. I have faith in our system and know in my heart that working Americans are an independent bunch that will never stand for a socialistic form of Big Brother government.

And that’s my opinion,

A letter from a friend that I just wanted to share, Don

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!...

But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right!.....
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is near $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is over 5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~ $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

YEP , IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE...AND WE SURE AS HELL GOT IT!!! ....NOW the DEMs' CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT--AND THE POLLS SAY HE'S GONNA BE 'THE MAN'--CLAIMS HE'S GONNA REALLY GIVE US CHANGE!!....JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YA THINK YOU CAN STAND???

These quotes are attributed to Thomas Sowell .. bright, articulate and a black Senior Fellow of the Hoover Institution at Sanford Univ. Snopes tells us that Mr Sowell is sometimes misquoted. Whether his or another's, the following words are passed along, for they contain no arguable information and are worthy of thought -- regardless of who was responsible....

"People who enjoy meetings should not be in charge of anything."

"Would you bet your paycheck on a weather forecast for tomorrow? If not,
then why should this country bet billions on global warming predictions that
have even less foundation?"

"The next time some academic tells you how important diversity is, ask how
many Republicans there are in their sociology department."

"The most fundamental fact about the ideas of the political left is that
they do not work. Therefore we should not be surprised to find the left
concentrated in institutions where ideas do not have to work in order to
survive."

"Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an
intellectual could ignore or evade it."

"Much of the social history of the Western world, over the past three
decades, has been a history of replacing what worked with what sounded
good."

"People sometimes ask if I have tried to convince black 'leaders' to take a
different view on racial issues. Of course not. I wouldn't spend my time
trying to persuade the mafia to give up crime. Why should I spend time
trying to convince race hustlers to give up victimhood? It's their bread and
butter."

"Blacks were not enslaved because they were black but because they were
available. Slavery has existed in the world for thousands of years. Whites
enslaved other whites in Europe for centuries before the first black was
brought to the Western hemisphere. Asians enslaved Europeans. Asians
enslaved other Asians. Africans enslaved other Africans, and indeed even
today in North Africa, blacks continue to enslave blacks."

"How come Barack Obama's tired Leftist bromides are seen as refreshing new
ideas?"

"Senator Obama is being hailed as the newest and freshest face on the
American political scene. But he is advocating some of the oldest fallacies,
just as if it was the 1960s again, or as if he has learned nothing and
forgotten nothing since then."

"He thinks higher teacher pay is the answer to the abysmal failures of our
education system, which is already far more expensive than the education
provided in countries whose students have for decades consistently
outperformed ours on international tests."

"Senator Obama is for making college "affordable," as if he has never
considered that government subsidies push up tuition, just as government
subsidies push up agricultural prices, the price of medical care and other
prices."

"He is also for "alternative fuels," without the slightest thought about the
prices of those fuels or the implications of those prices. All this is the
old liberal agenda from years past, old wine in new bottles, a new face with
old ideas that have been tried and failed repeatedly over the past
generation."

"Senator Obama is not unique among politicians who want to control prices,
as if that is controlling the underlying reality behind the prices."

I published these thoughts of Dr. Sowell to create discussion and comment by both sides. For once you have no excuse to call me a racist or a sexist. These words are those of another, not mine. I just happen to agree with what he has to say about these important matters.

Thank you Dr. Sowell

Well now it starts in earnest, I mean of course, the political ads for President. You and I have had time already to decide who will best represent our values. The idea that by suffocating the airwaves and our psyches with ads demeaning our intelligence will get either of them elected is ridiculous. Of course as a Conservative I am very disappointed in either choice but as an American I feel I must cast my vote or be forever silent in regards to the peoples choice. I have talked to many people, Republican, Democrat and Independents alike and so many have shared the feeling that their values have been cast aside and neither of these candidates are what you would call first team players. What happened to the Varsity? Where did our system fail us?

My thought is that we have been totally manipulated by the major media in this country and now have the choice of their two picks. The media has been taking our country farther left with each election. I can remember the days of John Kennedy, he was nothing like Teddy, he was an economic conservative who lowered taxes and created an atmosphere that business could be operated in. He gave us goals and told us the it was up to us to make this a better place. If Teddy would have had his way we would be socialists by now.

The days of Ronald Reagan were highlighted by the reduction of taxes and tremendous growth in business in this country. What did that do for the average man, just gave him jobs and security and more income than ever before. The liberal media gives you the impression that the liberals of the world are the only ones that care about people, not true, with out the creation of jobs and security here at home we would have nothing to care about or to give.

The agenda of the liberal left has and always will be to create a country where the government is your provider and protector, as long as they want to create a utopian way of life how about my way? In my perfect world it is the people who provide and protect their form of government not the other way around. We the people of America are the power not a lousy 545 elite Washington lawyers. The decision is in our hands now, my hope is that everyone votes and regardless of the outcome the people will have won.

And that's my opinion,

Been a busy week as we were holding a Grand Opening at a new business in town. Also we were very involved in JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Out little community raised over $10,000 this weekend towards a cure. If you have ever witnessed the courage it takes for a two or three year old or even an eleven or twelve year old child to take shots in the stomach every day all the while knowing that they will probably have to do so well into their adulthood, you just have to give of your heart. No child deserves such an insidious routine. We have been very fortunate in our immediate family so it is even more important that we share what we can to help these kids. When you see a normally active 3 year old playing and jumping around with all the other kids all the while he or she is wearing a pump attached to their stomach to keep the insulin in balance you just have to shake your head in admiration. I have never asked for anything but understanding in any of my blogs but if you have the ability to give just a little and you want to feel good about it find the nearest chapter of the J.D.R.F. and give just what you can it may just help towards finding a cure. Tell them Don sent you. If you need help finding a chapter just jot a note to my email at (donspoliticalblog@gmail.com) I will send you any info I can.

Dons political blog will return in a few days.

Today I have a clip from the house floor of Congressman Don Young of Alaska. Watch it and give me feed back as to what you get from the clip. I would appreciate hearing all sides of the argument. Don

On May 21st, less than 4 months ago, Congressman Don Young (R-Alaska) submitted H.R. 6107: American Energy and Price Reduction Act. Listen to him explain it in his own words (and notice he doesn't read from a script...generally a sign a person knows his subject and believes in it). Where are our congressmen today? Hey, those 535 indifferent SOBs are on vacation!
Pay close attention to what he had to say recently, then ask yourself: Why do we put up with this Congress?

For many years now I have tried to understand the reason for hyphenated ancestry. I guess according to the rule I should tell everyone that I am a Swedish-American. What I don’t understand is what is the difference between a Swedish-American and just an American? To me an American is an American not a Mexican-American, a Chinese-American or an African-American. Are we supposed to treat people differently if they have a hyphenation in their ancestry? I understand the natural pride in heritage as I was a Swede raised in an dominately Italian neighborhood in the south end of Seattle. If I would have called one of them an Italian-American I would have gotten my butt kicked. These were first class Americans and considered themselves Americans not anything else. I don’t know how it got started in the first place but I truely feel it has done more to isolate the Black community from all the rest of America than was done by the segregationist in the south.

I have a very good friend who was born and raised in Hawaii, since she was born prior to Hawaii becoming a State should I refer to her as a Hawaiian-American? I think not, she’d probably shoot me. She and her friends in the Islands are as much or more of an American than most as they lived through the terrible days of the Pearl Harbor attack and their families worked diligently in the rebuilding that followed. In my humble opinion adding a hyphen to ones heritage just isolates them from the rest of us. When my Grandfather was alive he used to preach to all of us that we were to be proud of our heritage but that we were Americans first and foremost. He even went so far as to make all of his children speak only English in the house. I don’t recall either my Grandfather or my Grandmother speaking Swedish other than a prayer that they lead us in at mealtime or when they were angry and didn't want us to know it.

I am not a racist as I am sure I will be called for these comments, it is only how I feel about what I consider a harmful situation. If we were all just Americans and all enjoyed the freedoms provided by our country equally, it seems to me that life would be a lot better. To me the only hyphenated American should be the Native-Americans who were here long before we were. Is it not a fact that the most successful of all people are the ones who assimilate into society and work to improve and advance themselves personally rather than those who hang on to the stereotype lifestyle of their heritage? As my father used to say; “ A man is as good as his actions, his color may be different but it’s what’s in his heart that counts.” My dad always used the word Negro when referring to a Black man. It was never with a derogatory tone or meaning, it was as he was taught in school. It was no different than me being called the Swede by the Italians in my neighborhood. It was never meant in a derogatory way it was what I was. Many of my Italian neighbors died in WWII and Korea. They were among the first to sign up to serve. No they weren’t Italian-Americans then either they were first class Americans all the way. Now it's your turn liberals, give it you best shot, as I know you will turn everything I have said into something entirely different.

And that’s my opinion,
Don

Whether you believe in God or not is a very personal decision. No one can prove the existence of God nor can they disprove his existence. It is a matter of faith, you either have faith in a supreme being or you think we are just here for the ride and when it is over it’s over.

I happen to be a person of faith, I am not what you would call a born again Christian as I have always believed that God loves us all and in the end it is your actions and how you treat others that will make your space in heaven a reality. In my beliefs God would never condemn a person for being raised a Catholic or a protestant or even those raised as a Hindu, Buddhist or Muslim. Children have little to say about how they are raised and the religion they are exposed to. In my mind it’s tolerance of others and their beliefs that count not whether you pray five times a day facing Mecca or do so as you are driving your car.

I feel that those who choose radicalism in any form in order to hurt those who have different beliefs will suffer in the end whether it be in Hell or just limbo for eternity. I know that I will get criticism from all sides for my beliefs but I have to be honest and tell it as I see it. To me God is the creator of all and if he didn’t want differences he would have made us all the same. I believe that God put us here on earth with our differences to learn to live together in harmony. Those who would be intolerant to the point of violence are the lost souls of our world.

To the Atheist I offer this; your decision to choose not to believe is something you will have to live with until you die, When you die I believe God will honor your decision and allow your soul to perish with your body. You have nothing to fear from others of non violent faith, their faith will protect you just as it does them. The real fear should be of those who choose violence and hatred in the expression of their faith. I have often tried to understand why an Atheist would object to the spirit of Christmas or any other demonstration of religious love since they had no such feeling themselves. I would never want to have a State sponsored religion and I really don’t feel that having a Christmas tree in a government building was a threat to that separation. If like minded kids want to have a prayer meeting before or after school how does that represent the crossing of Church and State? We have bowed so deeply to those few who wish to take God out of everything that Atheism has become a religion of its own. Maybe we should ban Atheism from our schools just as they have banned God.

And that’s my opinion,
Don

As a kid growing up in Seattle it was common knowledge that all boys were expected to serve their country. At 18 you signed up for the draft and either beat them to the punch and joined another branch or in some cases deferred for college or just went in the Army when the draft called your number. With the Cold War going at full swing there was very little argument about what was expected of us. These were the days that every child in school was subject to air raid drills. The alarm would go off and whatever we were doing we would have to stop and crawl under our desks. This was nothing new because we had the same experience during World War II. Little did we know that the “Duck and Cover” routine would be worthless in the event of an Atomic Attack. I guess it made us feel better that we had a routine to follow. Growing up at the very foot of Boeing Field with B-17’s of WWII and then later with B-47’s and B-52’s all around made us a real target should there be any type of air attack.

I honestly can’t remember anyone I knew who actively tried to get out of the draft or tried to avoid service. I’m sure there were some but most of us knew what was expected of us and had been raised to be ready for what we knew was inevitable in our minds, a war with the Russians. I guess being raised in that era has given me and my peers a stronger view and a distrust of the Russians that others don’t seem to have. When Gorbachev made nicey nice with Reagan and capitulated on the Eastern Europe situation many of us my age sat back and wondered how long the Bear could be caged. With the Putin regime came the answer, he snowed Bush into believing he was pro Democracy yet every part of his background showed him to be a diehard Communist.

This last week has finally showed where his place in history will be recorded. Putin is another in a line of Russian leaders who dominated the 50’s and 60’s with sweet talk for the media and a real contempt for the American way of life. Are we going to have another terrible decade or two with the constant threat of nuclear war or is this just an isolated venture to see how we react. Only time will tell but how we react to this situation will play a major role in what happens next. For all of our sakes Bush, please don’t blink.

For those of you who have never experience dialog with the Russians don’t be fooled by what they say only be ever aware of their actions. To a true Communist lying is just a means to an end and he will camouflage his real intentions with a smile. Don’t just take my word for these things they have been written in the history of Eastern Europe.

And that’s my opinion,
Don

The news this week about Russia and the country of Georgia is tragic, Russia seems to be doing its very best to become once again what Ronald Reagan once called the Evil Empire. I guess you can take the man out of the KGB but you just can’t take the KGB out of the man. Of course I’m speaking of Vladimir Putin who is still basically in charge in Russia. His hand picked president is nothing more than a figure head. The amazing thing is the press reports, if the U.S. was using blanket bombing in Iraq without the worry of collateral damage we would have been finished and out of their by now. With our liberal press our military would have been crucified by now for all the civilian casualties that would have resulted.

Where’s our righteous indignant press now? This is a perfect example of why Russia should never have been allowed into the NATO program. They should be kicked out of the Big Eight alliance and isolated from the rest of the world until they pull back. We meaning the United States, have a treaty alliance with Georgia and the rest of the world is watching to see how we react to protect our friends. They responded to our call and put 2,000 troops into the Iraqi war. We have the option asking for of a NATO no fly zone over Georgia and we should be pressing for that right now. NATO is not as impotent as the United Nations and has the ability to react to these type problems. If we wait for the U.N. to act Georgia will no longer exist and its people will be in bondage forever. We cannot allow Russia to regain its potency in the area and reimpose the edicts of the old Soviet Union especially with their lack of concern about using people like Iran’s despot government as an ally. We have right below our Southern Border another ally of Putin named Chavez in Venezuela who is already asking for Russian bases in his country. How about that Sean Penn and Danny Glover, still think he is the Saint of South America?

Russia knows that we are in a flux with a wounded duck president and a liberal congress that will fight every attempt to assist Georgia. Their ability to press this battle at this time is the result of a very liberal policy towards Russia from the last three administrations, Bush sr, Clinton and G.W. Bush. Putin was trained by and eventually in charge of the deadliest most ruthless organization on earth, the KGB and somehow we forgot along the way that you can’t teach and old dog new tricks.

And that's my opinion

Monday, August 11, 2008 Taking a break tonight but wanted to share this email I received. Don

This is a great lesson and so well presented -
>
> Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren, a social studies school teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock , did something not to be forgotten.
>
> On the first day of school, with the permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the building supervisor, she removed all of the desks out of her classroom. When the first period kids entered the room they discovered that there were no desks.
>
> Looking around, confused, they asked, 'Ms. Cothren, where are our desks? She replied, You can't have a desk until you tell me what you have done to earn the right to sit at a desk. They thought, Well, Maybe it's our behavior. She told them, No, it's not even your behavior.
>
> And so, they came and went, the first period, second period, third period. Still no desks in the classroom.
>
> By early afternoon television news crews had started gathering in Ms.
> Cothren's classroom to report about this crazy teacher who had taken all the desks out of her room. The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found seats on the floor of the desk less classroom, Martha Cothren said, 'Throughout the day no one has been able to tell me just what he/she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you.' At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and opened it. Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniforms, walked into that classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began placing the school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand alongside the wall. By the time the last soldier had set the final desk in place those kids started to understand, perhaps for the first time in their lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been earned. Martha said, 'You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks. These heroes did it for you. They placed the desks here for you. Now, it's up to you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be good students, to be good citizens. They paid the price so that you could have the freedom to get an education. Don't ever forget it.'
>
By the way, this is a true story.
>
> God Bless America - and Our Veterans
> What Is A Veteran?
> A 'Veteran whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve is
> someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America, for an amount of up to, and including his life.
> That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today, who no longer understand that fact.

Have you ever had a person in your company constantly look to the negative in everything. It wears on your psyche after a while even to the point of lowering your spirits. When you hear over and over about something that really is irrelevant and it is done in a totally negative view you start to believe even the most ridiculous things. Since the middle of the first G.W. Bush term we have had the major news media constantly talk negatively about the economy. In a study by analyst Dan Gainor of Business and Media Institute, it was discovered that ABC,NBC and CBS constantly reported that the U.S. economy was like a house of cards. They even hyped similarities to the Great Depression more than 40 times the first four months of 2008. According to this study that parallel doesn’t hold up. In 1929 the market lost 30% of it’s value in six days. Even then the news report remained positive. The New York Times even reported that the market quickly regained its poise.

The current coverage has taken a totally different tone. When the Dow dropped a mere 1/100th of a percent in the days after the collapse of Bear Stearns, ABC found a dark cloud for every silver lining. B.M.I. did a detailed analysis of these two periods of the stock market history and found that the news coverage from October 1928 and March 19,th 2008 were totally different in perspective. Comparing the 1928 reporting in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and the Washington Post with the major news sources of today ABC, NBC and CBS. They found the journalists of today hyping all the negative and finding darkness in every silver lining that came to be. In 1928 the news was always shown in as positive a light as could be still remaining truthful to the public. Roughly 40% of the news stories from 2008 were what you would consider negative and in the case of CBS the percentage jumped to 60% of its reports on the economy were negative. Absolutely no good news was found in the daily news reporting.

Could there be an agenda in their reporting? Without a doubt. President Bush was actually compared to Hoover in some of these reports in that they suggested he would be the first President to lose jobs in his first term. Not so according to the report. Just more negative hype.

When reporting the news it is in the best interest of the welfare of our country to be factual, call a spade a spade and keep personal views out of the story. We have a way for these reporters to express their personal views and it’s call commentary. When they do this they should let the people know where their affiliations lie. CNBC’s star reporter Maria Bartiromo has attempted to do that and even stated on NBC’s Today show that; “If we are not careful we can talk ourselves into a recession.”

The reason I enjoy Fox News is the fact that I know where the commentator is coming from, they are clearly identified as pro right or pro left. This leaves the listener to decide for themselves and does not include the slanting unanswered reporting that we see in other networks.

I wish I could take credit for this article but it can be found in its entirety on the website (www.businessandmediainstitute.com).

I have watched to results of this slanted reporting for the last 10 years including the positive points that followed the Clinton impeachment hearings. If we can spin the news to positive on infidelity in the White house isn’t amazing that we can’t find any good news to boost the American spirit now.

And that’s my opinion,
Don

Let’s discuss the value of oil, crude oil in particular. Everyone seems to be shouting the loudest about the cost of Gasoline and Diesel when the real cost is just around the corner. Everything in your house or car has oil in it. Crude oil's biggest value is its wide use as a raw material in the chemical industry. But modern industrial societies use it primarily to achieve a degree of mobility-on land, at sea, and in the air-that was barely imaginable less than a hundred years ago. In addition, petroleum and its derivatives are used in the manufacture of medicines and fertilizers, foodstuffs, plastic ware, building materials, paints, and cloth and to generate electricity.

Just imagine if we keep getting the stall from Ms. Pelosi and her buddies in Congress and they fail to come up with a real program to get the price of oil down, think what the prices of groceries, furniture, clothing and any other item with an oil derivative will get to. It can be contended that crude oil is too valuable a raw material to waste it to run engines. Crude oil is in any case an extremely inefficient source of energy and causes a lot of pollution. With that in mind why haven’t we built more modern refineries to separate crude from its much in demand properties?

The real screaming will come when the prices effect more than just the fuels used for autos, airplanes and home heating. The cheap use of plastics that are prevalent in our everyday lives will start showing this effect shortly. Take a look at every appliance in your kitchen or laundry room. How about the computer you’re on as we speak? The real effect is coming if we don’t do something quickly to end this inflationary rise. Madame Speaker, it’s time to act in our behalf not just another ploy to make the liberals look good. It’s in your court to change things now not later, the republicans in congress are still at their posts and waiting for a vote on oil production.

And that’s my opinion,
Don

Every once in a while something sets me off, today it was a statement I heard from a woman commentator on T.V.. It was about the rights of the prisoners at Gitmo. According to this person we should allow them the same rights as we as Americans have. They each should be presumed innocent until proven guilty, they should have a lawyer present at all interviews, they should be credited with time served and they should be allowed to have access to a phone to speak to family members. Excuse me but weren’t these people mostly taken in battle against our troops? Some of them were even part of the Alqeda leadership that mercilessly crashed loaded passenger planes into the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon.

If they had been captured by their own people doing things against Iraqi buildings and committing mass murder in Iraq or Iran or Afghanistan what would their fate have been? They sure wouldn’t have lawyers and telephones I’ll guaranty you that. We are talking about people who stone women for getting raped. Who will cut some ones hand off for petty theft and who will kill their own daughters for the disgrace of divorce. Yeh, I feel pity for them just like I would a rabid dog, I wouldn’t trust them for a second. These people are not like us, they don’t love anyone but their brethren, their lives are full of hate and they will happily die for the chance to kill the Infidel once again. I don’t understand why anyone in their right mind would give a damn what happens to them. Do you recall the murder of Daniel Pearle or the beheading of our troops when captured? Can you just imagine the torture they went through before they died?

It is beyond my scope of understanding even when I try to remember my Christian upbringing why we should shed tears over these self proclaimed Jihadists who even when they have been released from Gitmo have showed back up on the battle field in Afghanistan. I know the Bible says we should love thine enemies but it also calls for an eye for an eye. I think in this case the eye’s have it.

And that’s my opinion,
Don

I am married 66 years old and a businessman in Northern Nevada. My political views come from the experience of my 66 years and 40 of them in business for myself. I believe in a commonsense approach to government rather than a reactionary one. I believe in welfare for the person trying to re-establish rather than the present form where it is impossible to get off the roles once on. Man should be rewarded for his actions not his inaction.
