Let’s discuss the value of oil, crude oil in particular. Everyone seems to be shouting the loudest about the cost of Gasoline and Diesel when the real cost is just around the corner. Everything in your house or car has oil in it. Crude oil's biggest value is its wide use as a raw material in the chemical industry. But modern industrial societies use it primarily to achieve a degree of mobility-on land, at sea, and in the air-that was barely imaginable less than a hundred years ago. In addition, petroleum and its derivatives are used in the manufacture of medicines and fertilizers, foodstuffs, plastic ware, building materials, paints, and cloth and to generate electricity.

Just imagine if we keep getting the stall from Ms. Pelosi and her buddies in Congress and they fail to come up with a real program to get the price of oil down, think what the prices of groceries, furniture, clothing and any other item with an oil derivative will get to. It can be contended that crude oil is too valuable a raw material to waste it to run engines. Crude oil is in any case an extremely inefficient source of energy and causes a lot of pollution. With that in mind why haven’t we built more modern refineries to separate crude from its much in demand properties?

The real screaming will come when the prices effect more than just the fuels used for autos, airplanes and home heating. The cheap use of plastics that are prevalent in our everyday lives will start showing this effect shortly. Take a look at every appliance in your kitchen or laundry room. How about the computer you’re on as we speak? The real effect is coming if we don’t do something quickly to end this inflationary rise. Madame Speaker, it’s time to act in our behalf not just another ploy to make the liberals look good. It’s in your court to change things now not later, the republicans in congress are still at their posts and waiting for a vote on oil production.

And that’s my opinion,
Don

I believe in a commonsense approach to government rather than a reactionary one. I believe in welfare for the person trying to re-establish rather than the present form where it is impossible to get off the roles once on. Man should be rewarded for his actions not his inaction.
