Whether you believe in God or not is a very personal decision. No one can prove the existence of God nor can they disprove his existence. It is a matter of faith, you either have faith in a supreme being or you think we are just here for the ride and when it is over it’s over.
I happen to be a person of faith, I am not what you would call a born again Christian as I have always believed that God loves us all and in the end it is your actions and how you treat others that will make your space in heaven a reality. In my beliefs God would never condemn a person for being raised a Catholic or a protestant or even those raised as a Hindu, Buddhist or Muslim. Children have little to say about how they are raised and the religion they are exposed to. In my mind it’s tolerance of others and their beliefs that count not whether you pray five times a day facing Mecca or do so as you are driving your car.
I feel that those who choose radicalism in any form in order to hurt those who have different beliefs will suffer in the end whether it be in Hell or just limbo for eternity. I know that I will get criticism from all sides for my beliefs but I have to be honest and tell it as I see it. To me God is the creator of all and if he didn’t want differences he would have made us all the same. I believe that God put us here on earth with our differences to learn to live together in harmony. Those who would be intolerant to the point of violence are the lost souls of our world.
To the Atheist I offer this; your decision to choose not to believe is something you will have to live with until you die, When you die I believe God will honor your decision and allow your soul to perish with your body. You have nothing to fear from others of non violent faith, their faith will protect you just as it does them. The real fear should be of those who choose violence and hatred in the expression of their faith. I have often tried to understand why an Atheist would object to the spirit of Christmas or any other demonstration of religious love since they had no such feeling themselves. I would never want to have a State sponsored religion and I really don’t feel that having a Christmas tree in a government building was a threat to that separation. If like minded kids want to have a prayer meeting before or after school how does that represent the crossing of Church and State? We have bowed so deeply to those few who wish to take God out of everything that Atheism has become a religion of its own. Maybe we should ban Atheism from our schools just as they have banned God.
And that’s my opinion,
