Last night I went to see Les Miserables' at North Shore Musical Theater in Beverly. Wow! I've seen it Boston, NYC, and London, plus I directed a production of it a couple of years ago. This production was amazing! Done w/ professional NYC actors, in an arena style, it captured the emotion of Les Miz more than I've ever seen, as the actors were so close to the audience. This is a must see! It is only there till Nov 18th, and worth every dime. I went w/ my nephews wife, as my husband had 'seen it enough times'. I don't think you can see Les Miz too many times. The story is a timeless story of love and forgiveness. Don't miss out on this wonderful experience. www.nsmt.org

Dramamama my daughter was at the show last night in Beverly. She LOVED IT! She went with a bunch of her drama buddies and they were all raving about it.

Dramamama, I saw that show about 5 differnt times. One of my favorites. When it first opened on Broadway to lousy reviews I saw it and knew it would be around a long time. That was about 23 years ago. I did a little research, and found out that it has played in 38 countries in more that 200 cities. I don't think Victor Hugo knew what a great work he was giving us. I have never seen a bad Jean Valjean or Cosette. And the music just send chills through you. "I love him" "One day more"
and "Bring him home" are just a few of my favorites. Thank you for reminding me of a wonderful show. By the way, the non-musical version is real good also.

I've decided to go again w/ some friends who have never seen the show.
Fenway...about Victor Hugo. After he gave the book to his publisher, he hadn't heard from him and he sent him a telegram that said, '?" and got back a telegram that said, '!"

Dramamama, Of all the great songs in that show, I can't stop singing "Master of the House" but oddly enough in mid-steam I go into "Do You Hear The People Sing?" I somehow don't think the folks at Best Buys appreciated my horrible voice. And when I was at Costco, I heard a kid say "EEW MOMMY WHAT'S THAT" The Nerve!

Tickets are 50-70. Depends on the night you go, like weekends, vs weeknights. It is worth every penny. It is as good as broadway acting, at 1/2 the cost. I hadn't seen the show, until it came to Boston a couple of years ago. I was directing a production of it and everyone in the cast had seen it but me. That's not right! So when it came to Boston, I went. I've since seen it, 4 times, soon to be 5. When I was directing it, I had gone to Office Max to print off my 'yellow tickets' for Valjean. The man there told me he had seen the show 18 times! That's a true fan. Last year I took a group of Middle schoolers down to NYC to see the show. I wanted them to experience it.
And Fenway,...I find myself quietly humming the songs, when the din in the cafetaria, is super loud, while I'm on lunch duty and nobody can hear me singing. Keeps me sane! (though I could break out in full out singing and not even be heard--LOL)

Dramamama and I were going to go see Les Mis but I had seen it 3 times and thats good enough for me. I felt I should be unselfish and give my ticket to someone else. I sugested my nephews wife to Dramamama. She took her and they had a real nice time.

I really need to stay on top of things going on in the North Shore. What other cultural events are good? New to exploring this area. I heard Les Mis was very professional.
