I walked into the lunch room today to do my lunch duty. A few hands flew in the air, as they saw me. I thought, 'oh what now!', and walked over to the boys and said, 'No, you CAN"T go to the bathroom!', to which they replied, 'it's not that!', so I then said, "I'm not listening to tattles!'. "No, it's not that. Ok, then WHAT is it?" Mrs. X, are aliens real??"

I paused. Ok, do I give the "scientific" answer?, " my opinion" answer, or ''don't give children nightmares', answer. The latter. No, kids, they are NOT real!  To which a roar rose up from the table, "Yes, they are! I saw it on TV last night!!" And 'See, I told you!"  Ahh, I've soothed some fears, and quieted some dreams, but caused a ruckus. Oh well.

According to Webster's dictionary, "alien" is an adjective, and is defined as 1.--belonging or relating to another person, place or thing; (strange), b. relating , belonging, or owing allegiance to another country or government(foreign or exotic).

2. Differing in nature or typically to the point of incompatibility.

So, yes, if you just answered "yes", you wouldn't be lying. My grandparents were actually "aliens"(legal, of course)--they came over here on the Lusitania, from London, England.

Kayle,
He wasn't talking about that type of Alien. One of the kids saw a special on the History Channel about aliens and was horrifying all the kids with all the gritty details.
