Ok Folks, if you want to see a hilarious, and clean,  play, go to the Opera House and see the musical The Drowsy Chaperone. I went last night with my husband. I'd bought my tickets last year as I'd seen this play in NYC, and wanted my husband to see it. It is here for about 2 weeks, I think. The lead part is played by Jonathon Crombie, or "Gilbert" from the Anne of Green Gables mini series. I didn't know he was that funny. I dragged my husband to see it and he loved it also. It is only 90 minutes which is another plus. It is well worth seeing. I'd seen it a few times in NYC w/friends, and hoped it would still be as good as I remembered it. It was better. Don't let this one pass you by.

Hi DM, What a glowing review. I will certainly try to make it over there. I am glad you mentioned Jonathon Cromble. I must have seen Anne of Green Gables a dozen times. What a great PBS mini series. He was great as Gilbert. I never remember names and if I had just seen his name listed, I would not have known that was him. Thank you....

Fenway,
Go to the drowsy chaperone tour website. THey have videos of the show, and reviews. This is a must see show. It's only there for a couple of weeks, so make it happen! Let me know what you think. I've seen the show 5 times now, and each time it cracks me up! I saw it when it first came out w/my broadway classroom workshop, and loved it so much, I brought down friends to see it, then when I was in London, took my cousin to see it, and now my husband. This is one of those shows, that you can see enough. ...Phantom, Les Miz, and Drowsy Chaperone.

Like Dramamama said I had fun. Here i am a blue collar out door working regular guy who liked this show. If your unsophisticated like me and are entertained by slapstick goofy comedy (three stooges stuff etc) you'll love this show. It's a forget all your troubles show. It's worth the money. Oh and Dramamama didn't drag me, I went willingly.

DM, Now I no what the line was at the half price ticket booth on Boylston Street was all about. I walked over to the theatre and they were closed. I will go back on line and order them. I went on youtube to look at some of what they had. It looks fun. And Capt. I am so glad the show will please even me as a Reg. Guy.....I hope my sophistication can handle it.....(ha ha)

Let me know what you think of it. I sure you'll love it. I was so worried my husband wouldn't enjoy it as I'd built it up so much. But 10 minutes into it, he was whispering to me how some of our friends 'would LOVE this!'. It's one of those shows where it has so many jokes, you can't see them all in one showing. He even e-mailed one of his friends in SLC, where it will be touring, and told them to go see it. Now if I can just get the songs out of my head....Oh, and buy the souvenir program. It's as funny as the show.
