Panic At Nabisco

As a guy who cannot stand the very duplicitous Hillary Clinton, I feel like I'm going to bed with a masculine woman with "kankles" (and will surely regret it in the morning) by defending her.

But dammit, I've got to take a stand when I see b.s. being slung, and that's exactly what Barack Obama and subsequently John Edwards is guilty of doing with these shameless allegations that Hillary Clinton made an "inappropriate statement" when she said that "it took a president" (to bring the efforts of Dr. Martin Luther King to fruition...or something to that effect).

C'mon folks...we know what she meant, and to even suggest that it was somehow a "racist" or "disrespectful" comment is just foaming at the mouth.  If the shoe were on the other foot, and she was trying to impugn John McCain or Mitt Romney for saying such a thing, you bet I wouldn't be the only republican calling it crap.  Hopefully there are enough republicans out there who can pull the crayons out of their Pampers to have enough gumption to do the same...

These types of cheap shots are nothing but juvenile, and they have no place in politics, or in the realm of supposedly mature adults.  Grow up, guys.

Hi Dave, First let me tell you your new picture sucks. From that one eye you look either nasty or stoned. My opinion... Our blogs are very similar except for the fact I try to use words everyone under stands. You write these blogs that I need my dictionary near by. That might be the reason you don't get many responses. As for Hillary wearing Kankies (I'll look that up later)I'm sure it's bad. Why do you feel the need to say she's right but throw in how much you hate her. Will we think any less of you if you just defend her without all the added crap? By the waymy spell check doesn't even know what a kankie is. I'll have to go look it up now.

That photo is in direct response to being called "narcissistic" on these blogs. A guy who puts up such self-deprecating photos for the entire world to see couldn't possibly be a freakin' "narcissist", now could he-? But I think you're right, and I'll be putting up a different one soon; maybe after I go out for...no, wait.. (forgot about the weather) well...have some lunch.
A kankle is a just a thick ankle. I know you love Hillary, fenway...we're just going to have to disagree on that one. I said what I said to clearly express the fact that even though I can't stand her, I will still stand up for what's right no matter who is being wronged. I'm above "partisan politics".
And sorry, but I'm not going to punish myself for being perceived as grandiloquent (look it up). I have a rich vocabulary that I like to use. If people don't like it, they don't have to read my blogs; but I'm not going to "dumb myself down" to pander for responses. ...Again, sorry...

I agree that Hillary, much as I despise her, is not wrong here. The historical fact is that it did take the leadership of the president to bring the 1964 Civil Rights Act into law. That in no way diminishes the role of MLK and others. What's ironic to me is that Hillary, like Bill, tries so hard to kiss up to people who will NEVER be placated.

That's up to you. I just notice that your blogs go unresponded to. I would begin feel like I was talking to myself. I didn't see this till I wrote mine, and it almost says the same thing about the two of them. I wouldn't go as far as to say I love Hillary, but I don't hate her like a lot of people out here. Just for the heck of it when you get a chance glance over at mine. "Ladies and Gentlemen Vice president John Edward"

fenway,

I read yours already. I usually do read most of yours, but like many people who read mine, I don't always respond. It doesn't have to mean something bad just because I don't respond; just that I felt uncompelled to add anything.
I don't blog for the love of accolades and responses, fenway. I blog for the love of expressing truth and the love of the written word - hence the "grandiloquence". LOL

Barack is grasping at straws right now and is willing to do what ever it takes to win, even if it means playing the race card. You would have to be illiterate not to know what Hillary said wasn't racist. In this case Barack is hoping if he throws enough crap some will stick. Ridiculous!! This is just another reason for not voting for him.
If BArack had any integrity at all, he should have come right out and said, he didn’t think Hillary said anything racist at all, and he knew exactly what she meant in her statement. That would have spoken volumes of the man; instead, he chose to take the low road. Ah!! I have no respect for him any more.

This whole incident is major deja-vu for me. Which isn't really surprising, since Obama uses the same consultants that our governor used to get elected. And while I'm not a Hillary fan, I have to say that cheap shots like this are completely unacceptable in any campaign. Hopefully, people catch on to this for what it is, and we don't get stuck with Obama as president. (After seeing our new governor in "action", so to speak, I really don't want to leave to chance that Obama shares more than the same consultant with Deval Patrick.)

I agree that Obama and Deval are very much alike, two fine orators with nothing to say. Two empty suits. Obama tries to channel JFK with the overcoat look and the soaring, old-fashioned speeches without specifics. He talks about "hope" and "opportunity" and the "future". When you look at his positions on issues, though, he's really Al Sharpton.

"Hey Chip, I just caught your majorly hypocritical remarks on Joe Battenfeld's "Would Hillary Iron Your Shirts?" or whatever it's called blog. I see you're still shamelessly riding that sanctimonious train through hypocrisy-ville...nice..."

b)Oh, almost forgot:
Hey, Hillary - "get in the kitchen and make me turkey pot-pie, b****!"

Convenient how you selectively omitted the part where I said that I was only kidding, Chrissy. I was being ironic in light of the subject matter of the blog, which was about guys telling her to iron their shirts. The irony was underscored by the fact that I put the words in quotation marks - indicating that I was - in essence - quoting the aforementioned guys who delivered the original tongue-in-cheek slurs.
Chip, on the other hand, said that I was a "front desk clerk (which I'm not, btw) with a big vocabulary and a small BLEEP". ...And his shot was totally unsolicited. I wasn't even addressing him where he said that. He was just boiling with anger for the fact that I just proved his hypocrisy in a way he could not argue with - so he stooped to juvenile behavior.
What I said to him was not "cheap" at all - I was very justifiably holding his feet to the fire for his (now routine) hypocrisy. I am sick of him. I think he's a freakin' nut-job.

bufadelli, Obama is resorting to the same tactics that Deval used in order to win the election as well...Here in Massachusetts, we've seen the game, so I can't understand how Obama can have any supporters here. The guy preaching hope in the gubernatorial race is now in charge, and he's one of the biggest jokes I've ever seen. Therefore, why would I put the guy preaching hope in THIS election in charge of the country?

Xantum, amen. They are two of a kind. I just can't believe the rest of the country is as gullible, liberal, and clueless as Massachusetts. Deval tried to free a brutal rapist, for God's sake! And was elected anyway!
Even if Obama is the dem candidate, the repub candidate should be able to pulverize that guy in a debate.

Its quite possible each camp has their people that sit with pen-in-hand listening and waiting for anything to be said by an opponent that can be used against them. I don't think Hillary meant what she said in a racial aspect, but whatever, it was a not well thought out because it slighted all the efforts MLK had put forth in his life and that it took someone of greater power and influence to make a difference. That was insensitive no matter how you slice it. Its like if you spent years writing a book and all the credit was given to the publisher. But, as I say, they look for anything.
(And, btw, Dave, that is your best pic!;) )

buffadelli, they are absolutely two of a kind. And while I can understand the rest of the country falling for Obama (Doubt much of the country saw the kind of ads we saw here with Deval), I really can't understand here in Massachusetts. For some reason, people don't seem to see that we elected the guy who preached "hope" and "change", and all that changed was the drapes on Beacon Hill, and the kind of car our governor rides around in.

Hey now! Thanks, Foxy! I don't have a lot of pictures of me, and most of the ones cannot be seen in such a tiny avatar space. The current photo best represents the way I look after I've been awake for awhile and have had my coffee. I've got dozens of photos of myself BEFORE I've been showered and caffeinated - none of which are very flattering...
As for your other comment, I respectfully disagree with you if you think it was Hillary's intention to be "insensitive". I think she was merely trying to emphasize the importance of who's at the helm in the oval office. The fact of the matter is that MLK needed a president who would cooperate with him. If he didn't have that, would we even celebrate Martin Luther King Day-? ...I contend that we would probably (unfortunately) not.

Let's just hope we don't get Obama in office, Graham...I really don't want to see if that would sum up his leadership "abilities" as well as Deval's. (Seems like New Hampshire paid attention though...Note that Obama didn't win the primary there. Now we just have to make sure Massachusetts residents do the same.)
