Why does everyone hate the Patriots?

   OK, I know  the NFL is sick of us winning. Everyone and their Mother is getting on the band wagon to smear the fine reputation of the Pats.

   I was listening to the Opie and Anthony show this morning (Tues) and they reported that Tom Brady had been tested positive for a performance enhancing substance and was to be suspended for 4 games. I did not hear this in a 'joking' voice and there was no correction. I know it is stupid to consider O and A as a source for information but the story was mixed in with "Entertainment" news, which had true stories entertainment wise. I called the business line at WBCN to ask them if this was true. A nice woman actually got back to me after looking into the story. She called me back and said it was part of their "fake news" segment. Well, it pissed me off. I listen to that show in traffic in the morning because it is funny but no more.

Did anyone else hear this on the Opie and Anthony show? Also, what do you think about the animosity to the Patriots from the refs, the NFL and the media.

You no what, I didn't hear that and I'm pissed. As far as people hating the Patriots, so be it. New England is having great Luck with our sport teams. Why not for a long time we were the bottom of the barrel. It's time we glow in some of the glory. So not only is the hatred unwarranted, it's pure jealousy. The other thing with Tom Brady, could be a very dangerous thing. One example of that was when Orson Welles Broadcast "The War of the Worlds". People coming in on the middle of that didn't know it was fake. Alot of BLEEP went down because of that. This may not be on the same scale as that but could still be very dangerous.

I heard it and didn't believe it because they always do fake news stuff on Tuesday's. If it were true you would have heard it before those two clowns announced it. Never take anything seriously that you hear on that show. Remembered how they got fired from WAAF?

Opie and Anthony were fired in April 1998 from WAAF for an April Fool's Day prank involving Mayor Thomas Menino. Opie and Anthony told their listeners Menino died in a fiery car accident while vacationing solo in Florida.

That's suppose to be funny? Fake news?

If you're going to do that, at least have the decency to give the listener some kind of hint that it is a joke. Otherwise, you leave them to believe what they are hearing is true.

I've never heard of this show, myself, but using the airways for lies & smears disguised as "jokes" doesn't cut it for me when a person's reputation is at stake. I'm not laughing, Opie and Anthony.

C_Fox, these two aren't even remotely funny. They were also fired later for another prank gone too far...They supposedly had a contest where people having sex in public places could call in and win something (I think it was beer). Well, someone took it seriously and called in. While having sex in a church in Boston. Needless to say, there was a reason they got fired. And folks, you can thank CBS for having them back on terrestrial radio...They're only back with a "cleaned up" (but still VERY unfunny) version of their XM show because Howard Stern went to Sirius and David Lee Roth just ain't a DJ.

Jeis, seriously, you should consider getting an mp3 player and FM transmitter. You can load the player with something actually funny, like Weird Al, Dr. Demento, or since it's close to the holiday season, even Bob Rivers. That way it's funny, you're guaranteed to like it, and there's no commercials! I know people who've got XM and they say that even the uncensored O&A isn't funny.

People hate us cause they wanna be us...world series again, pats undeafeated headed for another superbowl win, c's looking pretty good this year...can you blame them?

Most folks are big time jealous of a winner and fear a street fighter. The Pats are a street fighting Team. Run it up and take it all. Let the less talented cry and call you names. Sort of like a blog. Bunch of cry babies. GO PATS!

Like to read, a lot. Very observant of current events and spend (probably too much) time reading every news source I can get a hold of about current events. Non partisan. Pro logic, clarity between the way right and the way left. Like the Morning News a lot!
