Disorder in the House

Just let me add my thoughts to the latest mind-numbing episodes from our Legislature.

First of all, this call by House Speaker Dimasi for an "investigation" of the threats made against Rep. Callahan is, of course, a sham. Will the investigation include simply asking Rep. Callahan to say who made the threat against her?

This is simply DiMasi's way of sweeping this under the rug. I will bet you all cash at the state Lottery that the "investigation" will find no wrongdoing.

The bigger issue is, how is all this chaos affecting business in the State House? With DiMasi under an ethics cloud, and members openly plotting to succeed him, and now one lawmaker making accusations of threats, clearly something is wrong. This may be the worst I've ever seen it at the State House.

There is absolutely no doubt that the Ethics investigation headed by a politcal blow hard like Rep. Fagan will find absolutely nothing wrong. Speaker DiMasi is another shining example of how power corrupts.

It's all politics as usually. We vote for these people hoping that they will bring change, do something for us. For some reason once they get elected they end up being there for themselves and to hell with everyone lese.

I will predict that the Ethics report will tell us that after an exhaustive review, they could find no concrete evidence to back up the claim of a threat. They will state that they do not condone threats of any kind by any member of the House. The Speaker will thank the committee for their efforts and will reiterate that they do not condone threats and look forward to working with any member of the House.
