McCain-Romney? Seriously?

Yes, it's real. There is a new report (the well-respected Politico Web site) saying Mitt Romney is now at the top of John McCain's running mate search.

I still don't believe it will ultimately happen, but it shows you how important money has become. Romney is a fund-raising machine and may be the only one who can help McCain compete against Obama.

On the less serious side, click here to check out my report on the Romney rumors and the Massachusetts company that did its own vice presidential poll. It's based on evolution -- survival of the fittest -- and it's the same method used to test products like soda.

Coming in first on both Democratic and Republican sides was Colin Powell. Other surprises, Caroline Kennedy finished in sixth place (just behind Hillary Clinton) as the people's choice for veep. FOX's Bill O'Reilly finished fourth among the write-in candidates and Oprah Winfrey third among Democrats.

Of course, there is no chance Colin Powell will agree to be a running mate, but what about Caroline Kennedy? How's that for an interesting ticket? Let me know what your dream ticket would be.

I would like to see McCain/Romney ticket myself.

So here it is June 30th and you are just realizing that, YOU NEVER MAKE BETS WITH A WOMAN.
What's that you say ,you don't know what I'm talking about,well let's refresh the memory.
Feb.18th 2008 7:23pm it was purposed
by a young anchoress that a BET BE MADE BETWEEN HERSELF AND YOU, she said Rommney would be on the ticket and you said NO WAY.
Now fast forward to 6/30/08 and you are trying to come out with this like you're the first person to think this.
OH JOE OH JOE, WHEN WILL YOU LEARN IT'S NOT NICE TO FOOL WITH MARIA STEPHANOS.

Hello Joe,
If McCain wants to win he will NOT pick Romney. He is a flip-flopper,just as bad as Kerry,if not worse.I would love to see Condoleezza Rice,she would offset any advantage with women and minorites that Obama would have.

Kelldog: I agree about Condoleeza but I think see has her own aspirations. I think it is O'Bama's year and Ms. Rice will be running for the top spot next time.

McCain's not a fool. He got the message. He picks Romney or he is forever an also-ran. Romney brings economic leadership skills that McCain is glaringly lacking. He also will allow McCain to rethink his views on amnesty. I'm sure that will be part of the equation. If McCain won't evolve on his position on illegal immigration and the need to rid this country's workforce of those who are taking jobs from Americans, I don't think Romney will sign on. Oh, and did I mention the "vaults" will fly open?

The only way I would vote for McCain is if Romney is on the ticket. I agree that if McCain wants to win, that's the way to go. I hope it happens.

Joe,
I Don't understand the love that Romney gets in this state.He abandoned this state half way through his term.He had his sights on running for president from the begining.If he had resigned and let Healey step in as Governor ,perhaps we would not be stuck with Deval.
I don't think that the Governor is a bad person,He is simply overwhelmed by the job.We are stuck with him,and it all started with Romney.

Oh PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Senator McCain, pick pandering Mitty!! The GOP is getting slaughtered this yr regardless of who the VP is (thank you President Gump and VP Old Man Potter for destroying the country for 8 yrs to allow for this landslide) and I'd rather see a useless fool like Romney or even Thune go down in the wreckage rather than someone with integrity and character like Pawlenty or Crist. Granted the Mormon Ross Perot will pop back up in 2012 and try and buy another election with a whole new barrage of pandering and flip flopping, but after Jim Webb humiliates him in the debates old Mitty's political career will be history. So again Senator, PLEEEEASE pick Mitty. He can't deliver MA or MI, his $ will be useless after 9/5, and yes you hate him as most of the country does...but still do the country a great service and crush what little future political viability that lifelong hunter has.
