How's this for a sequel? Christy II coming to ballot box near you in 2010.
Yes, he only got 7 percent in 2006 but Christy Mihos may be coming back for a rematch against Gov. Deval Patrick. It sounds a little delusional but could 2010 be a better year for a Mihos maverick candidacy? I say yes, especially because Deval Patrick has failed to break the Beacon Hill same-as-usual politics.
Mihos would be much better positioned to feed on people's thirst for change at the State House.
Now, should Christy mortgage his beautiful Cape Cod waterfront home to fund his campaign? Ah, no. It's too nice a house for that. But it would be fun to see Mihos actually mount a serious campaign.
What do you think? Does Christy have a chance or should he keep his day job pumping gas at those Christy's markets on the Cape?

He will have a much better chance in 2010 than he did in 2006. More people know who he is now. He would probably have abetter chance running as a Republican rather than an Independant, though.

I also say he keeps that commercial with the guys sticking their heads up their rear-ends, too. haha

In 2006, Christy got 7 percent of the vote, which in and of itself did not cost Kerry Healey the election, because Patrick got well over 50 percent of the vote. His blistering attacks on Kerry Healey during the debates probably sapped some of her support, but it likely wouldn't have mattered anyway because Patrick was going to win that election no matter what. Mihos could conceivably have a bigger impact in 2010. With an approval rating in the low 40's, Patrick is certainly ripe for a defeat (if he decides to run for re-election). But other than Charlie Baker, there isn't any other GOP candidate out there that would seem to be able to mount a credible challenge. Mihos could end up getting a higher percentage of the vote, and possibly deliver us four more years of Patrick.

Yes Joe he will do better in 2010. Instead of getting 7% He'll get 8 or 9. I wish I had that kind of money to waste. Slurpee's must be good to him.....

Joe,
serious question here,
couldn't it be that christy is just thinking of running to "mess up the votes"
whether it's for the dem.or rep. people are just looking for a quick fix, and the first one
"out of the gate" that offers that is the one that will be chosen.
What in all honesty could christy do for the state of mass?
We all know who really runs the state
it's not the gov.So what could he really accomplish?

No, I think he does believe he has a shot. Why not? Deval is really messing things up! But, will Christy be running against Deval or someone else if B.O. gets in and hires gov. Patrick in Washington?

Christy Mihos ran for one purpose only, to extract revenge from Romney/Healey for firing him from the turnpike authority. He is a mean spirited vengeful half-man who deserves not even 7% of the vote....

Hi Chip: I never really followed his career path. I will agree with you because you seem to know your stuff.

He was on NECN yesterday and the colon and skin cancer has seem to change his spirit. He was very good with the answers.

I thought with a better strategy from him or Healey, Patrick could have been beaten. Both seem to be on the attack mode way too much. It was as if I was stuck in a never ending family thanksgiving dinner.

So chip,

Are you trying to say you wouldn't vote for Mihos? Even if it came down to him, or our current so-called Governor?

I pray each evening that we can find ANYONE better than those two. Good Lord Have Mercy.

He had the endorsement of no one...and funding only out of his own ocket. He did squat at the Turnpike Authority, but I bet he wouldn't have chared us for a Cadillac...so I'd have to go his way...

My only hope? I got 100 feet from the ballot box before I puked.

All I have to say is that his 15 mins are over, he put no efford into running and he is going to do the same again. Christy should stop wasting people's time.

At least Christy is for the un-connected people. The time is coming for a non-politician to take over. There are just too many dems on the public dime that would even vote for "Charles Manson" if he was the democratic nominee.

Christy did nothing in the last campagin he had all of that money to win but did nothing in the debates. He really disappointed allot of people he was like Ross Perot just bumbling through the election.

Funny to see everygody attacking DP, especially when all of FOX stood behind him when he was running, calling him the only person that could "FIX" Massachusetts' problems, only to find out he hasn't done anything. The mouthpiece of politics should NOT be the medias' favorite choice, but rather educating the masses to what each candidate has to offer. Mihos, are you kidding me? Is this the best we can offer?!?!?
