Gotta love Sundays...Sitting here talking to my Hasidic Homeboy Jeff about college hoops (my man Wayne Chism having a strong first half for the Vols against UVA), and he tells me to hop on the Kaiser Chiefs MySpace page since they're streaming their new album, Yours Truly, Angry Mob. The Kaiser Chiefs burst onto the scene a couple of years ago with "I Predict a Riot."

Anyways I'm only 3 songs into this latest album but you must check out the first track, "Ruby." Mother of G-D this track rocks.

It's also worth noting that Modest Mouse drops their new album this Tuesday. The single, "Dashboard" has been on heavy rotation in my iPOD for close to a month now. I haven't heard anything as raw as some of the old classic Modest Mouse, but this new album is sure to rock hard like my abs when I was on HGH back in the day.

As I've been writing this I finished three tracks and decided to play "Ruby" again and now the Vols have taken full control of this game so my bracket is looking nice. I almost had a "romance explosion" on my keyboard.

Ok I think I'm done but let me know what you think of the new album, or if you're like Jeff let's hear about Mary J. Blige.

Josh, I think we're experienging a Biennial Brit Rock Invasion.

Bloc Party's debut album Silent Alarm comes out in 2005, 2 years later we get A Weekend In The City.

Kaiser Chiefs debut Employment in 2005, now, in '07 we get Yours Truly, Angry Mob.

In fact, if the Arctic Monkeys didn't come out with Whatever People Say That I Am, That's What I'm Not in January 2006, I'd make a horribly deduction that killer Brit rock only comes out in odd number years.

But back to the band at hand, Kaiser Chiefs.

If you have a chance to see them (and you do very shortly!) do it! Kaiser Chiefs are playing at Avalon in Boston on April 9th with two really good bands, one of them being Annuals, a new act out of North Carolina that are really really good.

I got a chance to see KC at the Austin City Limits in Austin, TX in 2005. It was 108 degrees out (described by lead singer Ricky Wilson as, "constantly standing next to the engine of a coach bus") but that did not stop the band from putting on a killer set filled with high energy that was one of the most memorable of the 3 day festival.

They didn't get Brit Awards for Best Group', 'Best British Rock Act' and 'Best Live Act' in 2006 for nothing.

Check them out next month.

Thanks for the heads up Jeff and I'll definitely try to catch that show. I know it was a couple of years ago but what was your experience at Austin City Limits like? I haven't been able to get to any of these festivals but it feels as if there's a new festival every month with all sorts of corporate sponsors. I think there are too many in the States alone, just my opinion. I finally finished the Kaiser Chiefs album and it's great. The new Modest Mouse album was just so-so at least the first time through.
