I gotta say that BC just has not impressed me at all this season. I know they're 8-1 and will most likely remain in the Top 10 when the new polls come out, but this team is the same as every other team in the past. Beat up on some weak teams, but the lose the game that can push the program over the top. BC struggled against UMass this year and they even played a pretty mediocre game against 1-8 Notre Dame. Their win in Blacksburg was impressive and a great comeback but I think it showed how susceptible this team really is.

All season I've been saying that I expect BC to lose at least 2 games on the year and not compete for a national title. Well if they lose one of their remaining three games they might not even have the chance to play in the ACC title game which would be similar to past years. The least this team can do is get over the hump there and maybe get to a BCS game, but I just don't think this team is that good. On top of that while I think Matt Ryan will be a first round draft pick and he'll probably play well in the NFL...he just doesn't do it for me to the point that I would mention him as a Heisman Trophy winner. Based on what I've seen so far I'd have to say that Dennis Dixon, Darren McFadden, Tim Tebow, Mike Hart, Jamaal Charles and Rashard Mendenhall are guys that have just elevated their teams above and beyond where they'd be without them. Also you might even have to add Chris Wells into the mix considering the Buckeyes are still undefeated.

So for all you BC "Super" Fans out there who were getting your hopes up for an undefeated season apparently you didn't realize that history repeats itself for this above average team playing in a very weak conference.

Here's my Top 10 (not what I think the polls will reflect):

Ohio St.
LSU
Oregon
Kansas
Oklahoma
West Va
BC
Mizzou
Michigan
Arizona St.

They can lose one more game, and still make the ACC title game.Clemson is the only tough game left.

I like BC, I always have. They are usually a very well coached team who are fundamentally sound. They are a good team, but I really don't see them getting over the hump this year in terms of reaching the ACC title game, unless I'm mistaken they have play Clemson AT Clemson, I just don't see them winning that game. Florida State, while woefully inconsistent this year simply has better athletes than BC does, and until BC can recruit better athletes to come here to play football they will be condemned to that second-tier of teams that are pretty good but can't get over that hump.

Looking at this season--which, by the way, opened with three straight conference games--I really thought this would be a bloodbath. I'll admit I expected very little from a first-time head coach forced to use subpar players who don't fit into his system. I honestly expected a losing season.

Except we're 8-1, in the driver's seat for the ACC Championship and a trip to a real bowl. We have won, against teams with better athletes than we have, in spite of all the obstacles. We were ranked higher than we've ever been, had a legitimate shot at an MNC for the first time in our history.

Am I disappointed? Folks, I feel like my dream girl dumped me. But when I look at the future of this team, I can't be anything but optimistic.

Next year, we get Raji and Toal back. We add them back into a defense that is another year older and more mature--and we get to add in the stellar recruits Jags has landed as well. Next year, we'll have a kicker who doesn't give me heart palpitations trying to knock in a PAT. Next year, we'll have O-Linemen who can excel in the zone-blocking scheme Jags wants. We have no running game? Three words for you: Josh Effing Haden.

But this is not a wait-till-next year moment. Wait till this year, ladies and gentelmen. Jags is taking this subpar team of guys who don't fit in his system all the way to Jacksonville. And when he's done in Jacksonville, he's taking them on south, to Miami. I'll see all of you at the ACCCG. And I'll see you again in the Orange Bowl.

Ryan could have had well over 500 yards if he was a little more accurate. I think they should have used the run more in the early 2nd quarter to change the pace of the game.

Does anyone else want to say the REFS had a huge part in this game. The TD pass for Florida was not a catch and the non call on Florida in the 4th on a pass interference call was a huge non call.

Take away those 7 points on the non catch and give BC the yads on the non-call and the outcome could have easily been a lot different.

The BCS doesn't want a BC in the BCS title game. They want Ohio State and LSU for the Title game. They will have no problem giving BC a BCS game and a nice monetary reward but not in the Title Game. I wouldn't be surprised that the bogus calls didn't play into this theory.

I really don't think it was the bogus calls...in my opinion BC is a mediocre team in a weak conference. Around here everyone was crying that BC was getting no love from the polls but guess what we were able to get up to #2. How about Kansas who is undefeated in a major conference and they're ranked #4 right now after putting up 70+. I think BC loses at least one more regular season game and if it comes at the hands of Clemson then the Tigers would most likely make the ACC title game over BC. If that happens then BC is out of luck again when it comes to a BCS bowl game. I also think it's time to put away all the Matty Heisman calls because this guy has not had a Heisman type season by any means.

As a BU grad I love seeing BC lose, but putting my bias aside this BC has not been that great this season and will end the year with 2-3 losses most likely and everyone will want to believe they're a program on the rise. However they've accomplished nothing more than any other BC in the past when it comes to finishing a season.

Major conference? The big 12? Really?

I didn't know Nebraska still had Tom Osbourne as their coach.

Since Nebraska isn't a good team the entire conference is bad? The ACC doesn't have any bad teams? bosoxs45 how about you stop being such a homer and actually notice that BC is a mediocre team in a mediocre conference. I've been saying all along that BC will end the year with 2-4 losses and they will not finish the season in the top 10...
