So now that the Boston Celtics have finally rid themselves of the pesky sub .500 Atlanta Hawks is it possible for the C's to get back to their regular season ways and take care of the defending Eastern Conference Champs in Round 2?

The Celtics and Cavs split their regular season series 2-2 with both teams winning their home games. If this trend continues we should see the C's prevailing in another hotly-contested 7 game series.

I personally think the C's match up well with the Cavs and I was not a huge fan of their mid-season trades that brought them Wally, Delonte, Ben Wallace and Joe Smith. I think that this should be a pretty intense and defensive series considering both are near the top in all of the defensive categories.

So which Celtics team will show up for this series? Will the torch in the Eastern Conference be passed on to the C's?

If the Celtics show up and play the intense, playoff defense they will win the series in 6 or 7 games. LeBron will get his points but the Celts need to stop the other Cavs and make LeBron work his tail off for his.

Yeah the thing that worries me is that Cleveland is also a very good defensive team and while we know LeBron will get his points he also makes his teammates better. He's able to find them in the right situations so that they can succeed more often than not. Coming into the playoffs I wasn't worried about the C's getting past Cleveland considering they were barely over .500 after their mid-season trades, but the Celts just did not look good in the opening round.

As long as the C's can control the floor my making good shots they should be able to get edge. They need to shut down LeBron James and keep him guarded tight

rcram...I think Rondo has the edge over Gibson in the PG matchup and based on his play last series he's really starting to mature as an NBA player (other than Game 6). The Cavs are going to try and control the boards and get stops defensively and then grind it out on offense. We need to do a better job in the paint than we did against the Hawks (clearly intimidated by Josh Smith's shot blocking) and we need continue taking it to the hoop and try to get their bigs in foul trouble. I'm excited for tonight...let's just hope it gets off to a positive start to erase the memory of Atlanta.
