Here are the letters folks.  The first link is the 2 letters sent by Specter.  The second link is the response by Goodell.  I love it how Specter only deemed this an issue when the Pats were about to play the Eagles.  Can he be more pathetic??

June, Specter just didn't have the guts to run for President, so now he's looking for cheap publicity. He's getting it the same way most candidates do, but he had to bring up sports history. And to that, I say (as many have): Get real! We're dealing with a potential recession and he's worried about tapes from the NFL being destroyed? Wonder if he forgot about the CIA ones that got destroyed. (Think those were a tad more important than these, don't you?)

Absolutely. You would think with his track record he'd do his best to stay out of the public light when it comes to stupid pursuits. Guess not.

June, Specter reminds me of a few Boston politicians. At times like this, I think he comes up with this stuff while the people he pays to think for him are in the john or something. Either that, or after he's pissed them off so badly they knock off for an extended weekend. He's got a very warped sense of responsibility, and it kinda scares me that people like him are in charge of the country...And we all wonder why we're going to Hell, sans the proverbial handbasket.
