Ok, so normally, I defend VB.  I happen to like VB and I think he sometimes gets some unfair and ugly remarks thrown his way for no really good reason.  That was until VB crossed the line yesterday on his blog "No Obama/Clinton Ticket?" (see the political blogs).

VB took it upon himself to decree that ALL women were catty and incapable of behaving in a professional manner when it comes to other women around them.  While I won't disagree that there are women out there that may not be fully aware of their self-worth and thus take on this attitude, to declare that ALL women behave in this manner is unfair and gross.  Seriously.  As a tv personality, VB, you have to be aware that people (sometimes impressionable people) are watching and listening and to make such a thoughtless comment only perpetuates the stereotype and degrades women.  If you want to have these childish conversations in the privacy of your home go right ahead, but don't be irresponsible on the air.  I suggest you seriously think about making a general apology for your comment (although I won't hold my breath).  I for one am offended by it and simply don't see you the same way anymore.

Women, please see why it is that we have to fight harder and work harder than men.  It is because of retarded views such as this one.

Shameful

Barak Obama is still NOT talking turkey...an his wife an Reverand Wright are not too they are stepped in the Black Nationalism Theology for 20 years....never mind the women issue its a colour issue plain an simple...
This why Barak Obama is doing the 2 step about Reverend Wright an even Reverend Wrights reverence for Louis Farrakhan an the Nation Of Islam thats why Reverend Wright gave him the award an why Reverend Wright spews the message of hate against White America an why America is always at fault no matter what the situation is...an this why Barak is talking turkey with the Nation he has had a huge dose of this Black Nationalism Theology for two decades an clearly doesn't see anything wrong with the goals of Pastor Wright or his wife Michelle an the doctrine of church guises in the Black Nationalism Theology....I watched former U.S. U.N. representative a African American tonight on Glenn Beck talking about this Black Nationalism Theology an how its roots came from Africa an South America and how its used to throw the Church out of power in some of these countries an move towards a united black movement in a form of collectivism for the blacks in Africa an South America....its not good news for white people believe me read the charter an the feel of what they believe an say....YIKES! oh you might want to Google James Cone an read his writings another YIKES! this sounds alot like Radical Islam to me except they will kill other Muslims to attain their Caliphate their Global Ummah the return of Persian Rule over the world with Sharia Law I wonder what happens when Presid

June, I agree with your assessment of VB. He gets a bad shake from people some of the time. This time He did go to far. It was a statement that comes out of the stone age. A Obama/Clinton ticket is pretty unlikely, but for none of the reasons he states.

THIS GOT CUT OFF:
Continued: when President Ahmadinejad meets up with these guys? i guess it will be like when he meets up with the Sunnis he will kill them too...an us and others who stand in the way of his goal the return of the 12th Imam....
Black Nationalism is Still Nationalism
There has been quite a bit of controversy recently over the statements of Obama’s pastor and mentor, Jeremiah Wright. Wright has, among other things, said that blacks should not sing “God bless America” but rather “God damn America,” has referred to the U.S. as the “U.S. of KKK-A,” has said that the U.S. government invented the AIDS virus as a genocidal weapon against blacks. When questioned about his religious beliefs on the Hannity and Colmes television program, Wright responded by indignantly asking Sean Hannity how many books by James Cone Hannity had read. To which the honest response would have been: who is James Cone?

James Cone, it turns out, is one of the leading intellectual lights of black liberation theology, which Wright claims as the basis for his church’s doctrines. He is also apparently the author of such charming statements as the following:

Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as

James Cone continued got cutt off:

Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.

It would be difficult to find a clearer statement of the nationalist urge to subjugate God to the interests of a particular ethnic or cultural group. Whatever one thinks of the merits of Wright’s criticisms of America (and on at least some points, such as his repeated condemnation of the Hiroshima bombing, I am in substantial agreement), they are not expressions of anti-nationalism, but of a different nationalism that is no less pernicious for being associated with a historically persecuted group.

fenway,

I really didn't appreciate the generalization. I don't know what Michelle Obama's issue may be (frankly, I don't care), but her issues do not characterize the rest of the female population in the world. Are SOME women catty? Sure. So are SOME men. But to generalize in that manner was wrong. Women have to live with this stereotype everyday in the workplace. We don't need it to be further reaffirmed.

When will black people realize that white people hate white people too.

June, using the word "retarded" to reflect as you have stated is also offensive and shameful. Sometimes we don't realize what we are saying may offend someone else, and we're all guilty of it at some point in our lives.

VB is paid to offend....do yu think for even one minute that Fox25 hired him because of his grades in "Charm School" with Howie Carr?

missdemeanor,

If you go back to my post, you will notice the word was not used to describe a person. It was used to describe the view or stereotype and YES, it is a RETARDED view.

Chip,
He often does offend someone in someway, but I don't think I have ever heard him generalize and encompass an entire population or in this case gender, with his offense. That, in my book, crossed the line.

If yu watch closely, June....he walks the line. I personally think it is planned and managed by his editor. For example...why is this post up? Fox25 censors criticism routinely. They do what they'd never allow anyone to do to them. Yet they put this up. It's called "market research". Sad but true.

VB, and others have created a great format here in Boston out surpasses other Media outlets....the formula was brilliant! interaction reality News! with opinions welcomed! even the liberal channel #5 has never done that! FOX25 has given you a voice! a place to be heard an the blogs....this is a beautiful thing that has been done for [us]....:)

FisherCat...they censor posts, they squash feedback that is not in their interest. It's a nice thing they do comparatively, but it is completely self serving. Wake up and smell the coffee, dude.

NOW...a few of their "reporters" are the cream of the crop...Stephanos, Ward, Ockerbloom to name the top three..when it comes to public access/dialogue, but don't give the station credit for their efforts. It's about money and ratings..no more, no less.

Sorry here but i got to agree with VB in this case.

Women alot more hyprocrits if you dont know that. (pretty sure you wont agree) thats beside the point.

Women get away with plenty of things men would of done got a fine or arresed etc...

All i see is women cry for smpython. There nothing wrong with that. I think show feelings is being a real human.

but saying your have to act tougher than man is b.s.

Chip, maybe i didn't explain it simpler terms they took talk radio basically and put it into a TV format but the bonus is the blogs....

Then what are you arguing is that there is buy-est in the way they censor just like they do on Talk Radio or Larry King live wit their call ins...dont be fooled is right...they all do it dont you think AIR AMERICA slanted their calls? I know this becuase i use to call into Claprood an Whitley I'm string at my Claprood an Whitley twon handled coffee mug...LOL!!! one on the right an one handle on the left...an Howie Carr an Jerry William an all the others who were in Boston on talk radio Victoria Jones liked to beat up on conservatives so didn't Tom Likas.....but he left after he had that New Years Beating of his wife...an went to the west coast he was moderate but mostly liberal but he would listen to both sides of the political spectrum...
