Sitting here in the parking lot after the game, reality hasn't really set in yet.

With a perfect so far, even talks of the parade, it really seemed like a no-brainer.  Inside the stadium, during the game, the atmosphere was electric and tense.  It was something new for Patriots fans, a low score, Tom Brady definitely not on his A-Game, and Eli Manning on point.  You really have to give credit to the Giants defense, holding the usual high-scoring Pats to just 14 points.

After the game it was a real challenge for me.  Understandably, the fans did not want to talk.  I had to do some coaxing, I had to say I was from FOX25 in Boston, and I was finally able to squeeze out a few words from them.

To sum it up.... shock, devastation, disbelief.  Fans really had no idea what went wrong.

As we pack up here and head back home, in the end most of the fans I talked to said the Pats have nothing to be ashamed, they're still an awesome team.

On my last night here in Glendale, I look back at all I've experienced all week long - moments where I wanted to pull my hair out, other times laughing so hard my stomach hurt... what an experience, what a time, what a game.

See you back home real soon.

Thr Patriots play a great season. A undefeated regular season record. Then the Giants bites the Patriots in the butt in Super Bowl 42. The Patriots should be proud of it record. Even though the tam lost in the Super Bowl.

Thanks for being classy about it, CycleMike. I am almost too bummed to type. I can't believe I care this much about the loss, but I confess that I am really blue today.

This game reminded me of the 04 sox-yankees playoffs different sports similar scenario but reversed. We can't win em all even though it would be great to. Time to think Spring Training....GENERAL!

What was with the Red Riding Hood outfit! Belichek is a poor loser...Your defense is out there for the kneeldown, he should be there.

Giants DL cleaned the OL's clock. McDaniels game plan was one of the worse. Take your pick;

1. Bill Belichick
How many times in the last seven seasons could you say Bill Belichick got out-coached?

In the most important game of his career — because it was the next one, right?— Belichick's team played with less emotion and less discipline and made fewer plays.

Belichick watched his defense wilt at the end, allowing an 83-yard TD drive in the final 2:42. And worst of all, he made a decision that was almost identical to the collection of mistakes that cost Marty Schottenheimer his job with the Chargers.

Last year in the playoffs against the Patriots, Schottenheimer went for it on 4th-and-11 in the first quarter instead of sending Nate Kaeding out for a 47-yarder on a sunny day in San Diego.

In the third quarter on Sunday, Belichick went for it on 4th-and-13 instead of sending out Stephen Gostkowski for an indoor 48-yarder. What made Belichick think his offense could pick up 13 when his QB was averaging closer to five per throw? The play was even worse than the decision to go for it, a desperate Hail Mary into double coverage to fourth receiver Jabar Gaffney that landed out of bounds.

2. Tom Brady
"Only 17 points? Give us some credit," was how Brady jokingly dismissed Plaxico Burress's "23-17" final score prediction.

As it turned out, Plax was being generous. On a night when he was under constant pressure, Brady

No one can take away the fact that at this level the Pats went 18 - 1: yes they lost the big one- but it will only be overshadowed by the media's saying - oh well they lost the big one - yes they did - but this was a FABULOUSLY HISTORICAL SEASON - and I think if you took all the pressure that was on the Pats - everyday for how long now ? to be perfect - to win again -
I truly think Mr. Eli and his giants - would of crumbled - I love my Pats- and they did take us on a incredible ride this season - true the Giants out played them last night - and I like all other true Pats fans are not feeling so great today - but we will over come - and move on to face another day. So raise a glass - Pats you are the greatest!!!

The game that truly matters, the Pats choke.. washed away a almost perfect season. The rest of the nation knows why you guys lost.. Arrogance, and this was so evident as your coach walked off the field with time on the clock.. Truly classless!

I am a Philly Fan but I rooted for the Giants last night taking into consideration that cheaters do not win- The Pats head coach cheated whether the players knew it or not- Certainly a very hard pill to swallow but next year, it will be the Eagles all the way!
