Wow, is the sky falling?

First, the bottom drops out of the stock market. Next, I check my 401k, big mistake! Take a seat in the family room yesterday to watch the Patriots...My son kept flipping the stations saying, “When are the Patriots on?" That was a beating unlike any we have seen in years. And then, on a cloudy Monday morning, I'm reminded this is the first official day of fall. Gee whiz, how much can a gal take?

Actually, I can take a little more I guess.

It's these times when I turn to our Fox 25 Morning News pal Joe Malone. Joe seems to find the silver lining in every dark cloud. This morning he said on the air he believes the markets will turn around and we will all see our savings return...he sites history...the U.S. economy always makes a rebound. Joe is convinced that the Patriots will also be back. He's predicting a restful but refocused by-week....and a 12-4 season for the Pats. And finally this morning, Joe reminded me that fall is actually my favorite time of year. The days are crisp and generally beautiful. Mother Nature gets out her paint bush and colors the landscape. Joe says keep your eye on the ball and don't think about what's next...Just enjoy right now.

I'm taking a page for the Joe Malone handbook. Look at the bright side...it could be a lot worse!

I like Joe's attitude!!

I read this one time: "the next time you complain about your shoes, think of the person who has no feet to wear them..."

Always think on the bright side. :)

DUH! K.C., I could have told you the same thing. The Sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow will be bright....Just thinking about tomorrow, DA DA DA.

I am with Joe. Life is too damn short to worry about all this negative stuff. Rejoice in the beauty that God gave us to witness this time of year. Watch him paint the mountains with yellow and red and orange colors under a blue sky.

We can not change history. We can only shape the future.

And Joe was State Treasurer...maybe he knows something.

Ms. Carrigan, a piece of advice...if your first breath of the day is air, and not dirt, consider yourself privileged....

Joe Malone is right, history does repeat itself, the market will rebound and the economy will once again be strong, but it will take time. Most of us have been through this before and we’ll all go through it again in another twenty or so years from now.

How do you tell the people who lost their homes and jobs not worry about it, look on the bright side…it could be worse!!! Keep your eye on the ball and don't think about what’s next...Just enjoy right now. A real profit that Joe Malone…..

Kim, listen to your son he hit the nail right on top of the head. I’d like to know what his prediction is for the rest of the season for the Pats, because Malone’s prediction is way off. I would reverse Malone’s prediction and go with 4-12 and that might even be a stretch, however, history does repeat itself, so wait until next year. Hmmmm where did I hear that before????

Joe definitely rocks the morning spot...I just love the guy.
I always try to persuade others to think positively. But life's not all about being sentimental and romantic; a healthy balance of wisdom and positivity work for me.
I've blogged more than once about being grateful and looking at the bright side of things, but at the same time we can't just ignore serious issues that need to be addressed just because we're trying to remain "positive" all of the time--if we did, nobody would ever watch the news! ;)
