Tonight I'm blasting Seattle Mariners First Baseman Richie Sexson. In case you missed it, Sexson lost his cool Thursday night after Kason Gabbard(former Red Sox pitcher) came in high in tight during the Mariners-Rangers game.
The pitch never actually hit him, but the 6'8 Sexson decided to charge the mound. Here's what I have a problem with. Sexson takes his helmet off and throws it at Gabbard on his way to the mound. Remember, Gabbard is standing there completely defenseless.
If you want to charge the mound, go right ahead, but drop your helmet, drop your bat and fight like a man. You don’t see hockey players throwing their equipment at each other, do you?
Sexson was trying to be a tough guy, but instead looked as soft as his .209 batting average. Major League Baseball suspended him 6 games for his actions.
What do you think?
