I cannot BELIEVE we are talking about a parade.  I just can't.  Stop.  I know that they have to plan, I've been fortunate enough to cover a Superbowl parades, World Series parades.  And as far as I can remember, we NEVER talked specifics about a date.  I believe in jinxes. I know it's irrational and stupid.  And I know this is different because of Super Tuesday and they have to plan, which gets me to this part of my blog.  I've lived in Boston and voted.  And I've been at these rallies.  There is NO way you can easily move around and get to where you need during them.  This is crazy.  I'm sure they will make sure to accomodate everbody.  The fans, the voters either way, can we just wait until late Sunday night and THEN talk about it?

Remember, this from a girl who wore red every single day tand my stinky old Red sox hat before every game.  I just can't help it.

I agree with you 100% Maria!!!!!! My heart will not stop racing until after the game is over!!!!!! Why would they want to put the cart before the horse? You are far from irrational and stupid!!!!!!!!! Don't forget the Red Sox, and "Reverse the Curse"!!!! We overcame then, and we shall overcome and perservere again!!!!

GO PATS!!!!

I just wish Sunday night would get here already, don't you, Maria?

I certainly hope that everyone will get out and exercise their right to vote. After all, it takes every single one of our voices to be heard to make a difference!!!!

Have a wonderful evening, Maria!!!!

Maria,

I was going to blog about this myself. I was going to ask, are the Pats Jinxed now that the Mayor has come out with his plans for a parade before the game? OMG!!! I can't believe he did that. I agree they should make some preliminary plans before the game, but for Gods sake Mr. Mayor Keep those plans to yourself until after the game before you make that announcement. Now I'm saying to myself, if they ever lose, that's the reason why right there. PRESUMPTION!!! PRESUMPTION!!!! PRESUMPTION!!!!

I'm a superstitious person myself, so I don't think it's irrational and stupid at all. Now I start thinking how every Super Bowl stupid things happen all the time in the game.

I hate to wish my life away, but I feel like Dory, I just wish Sunday night would get here so we can get this Game over with and the Pats just blow the Giants out early.

Maria, are you going to be wearing anything special for the Super Bowl? I know you wore red and your lucky hat, during the Red Sox playoffs and world series, but how about the Super Bowl? Anything?

Maria, I could swear that the parade for the World Series was talked about before the win. Either way, we have to know some planning goes into these things. If this happens or that happens. It's not in my nature to be the level head but I guess I'll take the reins. If the boys are leaving for the Hawaiian Bowl and it cant' be on Wednesday, It will have to be the following week. To have it on Super Tuesday is unrealistic. It would put to much of a strain on the city. It's also not fair to the people in the city that want to vote. This is a very important election and that has to take precedence. I love the Patriots and wish them well, but I think this discussion has to take place due to the nature of what's going on. And for the people who say the rally is more important, I say this why not have the rally in Burlington or Walpole or Concord or Lexington or Foxboro.

Please dav, not the suburbs. Well Foxboro would be ok I guess. I think it's nuts to have it on super Tuesday. Glad I don't live in the city. Not that I'd go anyway. As far as a jinx? It's only talk about a parade. We could look at it as an AFC Championship parade (for now). Let's just hope Brady's picture doesn't turn up on the cover of SI before the game. Now that I'd worry about.

The parade thru Boston on Super Tuesday is a dumb idea to say the least. Can't they move it to another day?

Maria,
As far as jinx's go. No way, no such thing.

Parade planning or not - Pats all the way!!!

Hi JM, I joke with the rally being in the burbs. I'm just trying to make a point how it would probally be the people from the burbs yelling the loudest and saying heck with Super Tues. lets have a rally.....

I think Monday the 4th would work out fine, if not, Wait until they get back from the bowl. It'll give us something to look forward to, and stretch the season out that much more.

We'll barely get to take a breathe and it'll be SPRING TRAINING!!

Guys, make sure you read Joe's blog, right below mine in the politics section. He's taking me to task, as usual. But I can take you Joe. You don't scare me. My heels are dug in. I don't want to Jinx it. o.k.? I also agree that people need to vote. They have to figure something out, just keep it to yourselves alright?

As for my crazy superstitions, I have a nice old Patriots hat with the old logo. That goes on the head before I have to anchor my hair up.. as for the suit. I'm torn. But I'll know it when I see it, and it will make sense. Insane, I know. But it's fun!

I know I'm going to vote on Tuesday no matter what. There are a lot of people who still look at Tuesday as only a primary and not the election. If there is a parade on Tuesday, I think most people will vote either before or after the parade. The poles are open until 8 o'clock so there's no excuse not to vote.

The reason the parade is Tuesday is because most of the players are playing in the Pro Bowl in Hawaii and are leaving on Wednesday, after that, their on a well DESERVED VACATION!!!

dav, you're probably right about the people from the burbs being the loudest. I can't even think of going near the city that day. Ugh. What a horror show with the traffic, the crowd, the T will be a mess. You're right near there though. Will you go? After you vote of course.

Jovan, I hear you! I hate to disagree with you on this, but I will. Yes it's just a Primary, but the most important one in 8 years..Every vote is Important and the rally area covers alot of area that older people live. Yes the polls are open till 8 but I still think this would put a undue strain on the Police department and others.....

Fenwayday, no twisting here. I'm totally confident about Sunday. Just making sure we don't jinx it!

Dav, your right it is an important day, I just hope people take it more seriously than it's just the primary. For the most part I think the elderly like to get up early and vote. Not sure on the time of the parade, but I'm sure it's not going to be more then a 2-3 hours??? I hope!!

There's no question there will be a strain on Bostons finest, but they'll get the job done, they always do. I hope people take this election serious enough to get out and vote because it is an important election, and your right dav, every vote is important, so everyone, GET OUT THERE AND VOTE ON TUESDAY!!!

I think sensibly, it's the right thing to do. I don't think anyone is guaranteeing there'll be a parade, but seeing how the Pats are in the Superbowl, it is a real possibility. The Pats say the parade can't be any other day, so that puts the mayor in a tight situation that he has to address now and not at the last minute.

I don't believe in jinxes. I believe in one making their own destiny happen. If the Patriots go out there and play with the same passion and heart they've been playing all season, a win is very attainable. Weren't the Red Sox on the cover of SI several times during the 2004 season? Isn't the SI cover the 'ultimate sports jinx'? Did the Red Sox not win the World Series in 2004? See, there we go!! :)

Hi Maria,

I TOTALLY agree with you! Lets play the game first and then go from there, and talk about it late Sunday nite. And Maria, I have a hat with the old logo too, that indeed is a classic design!! Enjoy the game and GO PATS!!
