To quote Bill Murray in Stripes..."and then depression set in". Just got finished watching the Sox lose to the Indians as a seven-run 11th buries Boston in game two. Trot Nixon doing the damage may be a great story line...but only in Ohio. Let's face it, the Indians came to Fenway with the hope of winning both games but with the more realistic expectation of grabbing one before heading for home and three straight at the Jake. Well, they did it and now we'll see how the Sox react. Gonna be interesting that's for sure....especially with Daisuke getting the start on Monday. Here's hoping the Sox can return the favor quickly and win game 3 or this could turn into a long, drawn out affair that may not have a happy ending. I said it in an earlier blog, the Indians are a scrappy, young team with a good manager and now they've got a lot of confidence. Still, I like the Sox chances in what is now a best of five. How 'bout you?

Keep the faith Sox Fans!

I like their chances as well but it's time for a lineup change. I blogged about the whole 2nd game also and it's time to break up the speed at the bottom. Having Lugo and Crisp back to back negates the speed game and must be seperated.

Dice-K needs to go at least 7 strong.

The Sox played well on the road this year and it's perfect timing for the away portion of the series. If they have any lingering effects then road games will bring them back together.

Francona needs to start applying pressure on the opposing pitcher and changing the lineup would do that.

Ya I agree with lafko06 Francona needs to break-up Lugo and Crisp and put some speed in the begining and the end of the line up. that will keep pitchers thinking about them on the base pads and breaking up there concerntration.

How many of you agree, tomorrow night is a HUGE start for Daisuke? How do you think he'll fare? Theo had this in mind a long time ago when he signed him, remember all the hype, the elaborate press conferences...now we'll see how it all plays out!

Ock

I think is Daisuke can play the way he did the last few games of the regular season we will be ok.

Call me crazy, but I like the suspense. I like them having to work for it, it should be earned. They have to prove they are more scrappy than Cleveland, and I think they are and they can prove it.

Note to Terry: For the love of God, I understand wanting to give Gagne some love, but this is not the time. PLEASE leave that boy in the pen. This is not the stage for him.

I wouldn't expect to see Eric Gagne in a game anytime soon unless the Sox are up big or down big. I gotta think even they know he can't be counted on when the game is on the line.

You would THINK they know, but clearly they choose to ignore it. How many times have we seen Francona bring him out in close situations? Look, I like the guy and I think he really wants to do good, but we can't confuse good intentions with talent. Gagne may have had it at one time, but he didn't bring it with him to Boston. Time to end his misery.....and ours!!!

Ock, I think Dice-K won't last 3 innings. He's been a digrace time and time again. More of a digrace is paying so much money for him. Cut our loses and say Si a nara.

Is it me or was that the wildest strike zone EVER! Jake Westbrook had his stuff going for him today, he didn't need help from the home plate umpire. No one knew what to swing at because pitches that looked like and WERE balls were suddenly (as Buck and McCarver put it) "borderline strikes". Ok, when the ball is almost outside the batting box, IT'S NOT BORDERLINE!!!!!!

Yep.. a strike zone measured in acres....but Dice-K had the same strike zone and couldn't use it.

Alot of millions not producing. I sure hope Wake has his stuff....

And what's with having the baes loaded and doubloe plays?
