Tom Petty was great, but I really didn't enjoy the half-time show because of an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach.  A 7-3 lead at the half, and the Giants defense playing well had me nervous.

I thought I was in Yankee Stadium in 2003 when Aaron Bleepin' Boone hit that home run to end the Sox's playoff hopes.  The sound of "New York, New York", the fans yelling about a come-from-behind win against Boston.  I guess we can now start saying Eli Bleepin' Manning.

But give the kid credit - from the shadow of his legendary father and brother he came through.... looking a lot like a young Tom Brady back in a 2002 New Orleans Super Bowl.

A great run for the Patriots, but like most things in life, things are seldom perfect.

Mark,

It was the incredible devastation of that loss in 2003 that made me vow to NEVER, EVER, get emotionally involved in that manner again. I was honestly depressed for weeks after that game.

Today, I'm disappointed, but have moved on. They played good, the Giants played better. Tough loss. What can you do.

From the way Pats fans discussed the game beforehand, there was really no need to play it. NE barely escaped a few weeks ago against the Giants, and NY proved that they are also a professional football team that is not in awe of Tom Brady's alleged holiness. Manning's Rock!

Oh, southern, we've missed you. Nice of you to show up after the fact. Where were you before? It's easy to come in here AFTER and give your two cents.

When you win, the world adores you. When you lose, the world forgets all about you. (Quick: Who lost last year's Super Bowl?)
...
but the world will keep turning...and the bills will need to be paid...and the kids will need counsel....and spring will come...and the smell of flowers will verse the air...and very soon we will have a new prez...and...a record budget and a record in-debt nation...and...
......more havoc in the world...
...
but i agree, the super bowl was a good pick me upper.
now...we must move on
have a good day.

Ock,

Superbowl XLII proved an old addage: Football games are won at the line of scrimmage. To their credit, the Giants brought everything they had to bear to the line of scrimmage. To give too much credit to Eli Manning is to show that you (second person PLURAL) are naive to the game. Equally, to lay too much responsibiility on Brady shows the same.

You know Ock, I compare it to the hype and predictions of a few weeks ago when the polls said this one ahead and that one behind. We saw how that one worked out. Like June, just gotta move on. I bet there were a lot of people in Vegas that made out nice. It wasn't me!....I still think if Belichick stuck to his ugly grey sweat shirt things would have been different. Congratulations to the Giant's...

Well the bile level in my system has finally dropped to normal levels. Hopefully after a week, I can view last night more objectively, but for now it just seems like a gag job roughly parallel to the Rams in 2002 in scope.

For the record, even though it sounds hollow after last night, kudos to everyone who went to AZ for the hours and hard work put in last week. Enjoy sleeping in a real bed and eating home cooked meals.
