Tonight on the FOX25 News at Ten, we're going to show you a formula for keeping track of how much you spend on gas per mile. The results may shock you and may also help you change your driving habits so you can keep a little more dough in your pocket. And who doesn't want that in this down economy?

In the report, they also talk about gas prices soaring to $3.50 per gallon, which studies show is the psychological threshold where drivers say they will change their ways. Personally, I think once gas prices eclipsed $3.00 per gallon, people really started taking a closer look at their driving habits, or perhaps what kind of car they'd like to buy.

How about you? Has the steep price of gas already caused you to cut back or are you waiting till it crosses three and a half bucks?

I know there's talk of $4.00 a gallon by this summer, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there ... hopefully with a full tank of gas already in the tank!

Unfortunately for me I have a 60 mile a day work commute. Not to mention all the driving I do as a Realtor. I'm interested to see the formula so I can keep better track for my tax write-off next year.

The gas pump is a painfull one. No big excursions for me this summer unless it's a carpool of people pitching in.

I don't own a car. I don't think I'll ever own one unless it is an absolute, inescapable necessity (and I do mean extreme). My husband does drive because he works the overnight shift at his place of work. See? No escaping the need there. I think it is absolutely inexcusable that this government is allowing this to happen.

The government has few choices other than removing the taxes they've place on the gas, relaxing their refining regulations to allow expansion or allowing America to become more sufficent by drilling in Alaska. These things will not happen.
At least you can find comfort in the fact that a 20oz bottle of water cost about $6.50 a gallon.

i am definitely hating the gas prices right now because i drive like i'm sure the majority of the people still an SUV and 20 dollars gets only a quarter of a tank of gas
