I thoroughly enjoyed today's rolling rally for the Celtics. After all, it was chance to bask in the afterglow of yet another championship here in Boston. But I also feel like the rally needed more. Call me old school, but it needed a formal ceremony at the end with each player, or at least the Big 3, the head coach and owner addressing the masses and sharing their thoughts on what the title means to them, the city and the fans.

Today's rally rolled on without ever stopping. At least Papelbon's river dance made a few stops along the way. Remember when Larry Bird shouted "Moses does eat $%*!" How 'bout when Robert Kraft danced (or at least tried) or Troy Brown yelled "bingo...we got bingo!" Those were moments to cherish and celebrate and though there was plenty of celebration today, I feel in some ways the giant party was missing an exclamation point.

I think the actions of a few clowns the other night, may have prompted all to keep it short. Also, the nice weather does tend to bring out the rats.
The formal ceremonies came with the horror stories. Guys urinating in the crowd and other not so nice things.
I thought today was awesome. Less is more.
Also, the estimated cost to the city, The Mayor was watching the clock.

Maybe we are just getting "spoiled" with all the successes.

It was my understanding that the Celtics were footing the bill, or most of it, for the parade. Maybe I'm wrong. I didnt get to see any of it but I would have expected it to end with some speeches, players thanking fans, etc. Maybe they all were just exhausted after the fanfare of the last few days. Who knows? But I can't help to think that they only did the parade because they were expected to. Because every other championship team here did it. Again, could be wrong.

The players gave enough thank you's. The interviews before the rally by Tommy was great.
The Celtics could be footing bill. If so, then they were wathcing the clock. The parade is an expensive thing regardless who is paying.

Thanks to all the Celtics for cominng out. I enjoyed the day and thanks for another banner.

Mark I have to say that the coverage of the Celtics parade left a lot to be desired. There was way to much coveratge from the helicopter and a lot of coverage of the fans. I wanted to see more of the players and Doc Rivers, never did see Doc at all. Ichanged channels to 4 & then 7 and it wss all on the players and Doc Rivers. He got a lot of credit from 4 & 7 on his coaching of the team the Fox news gave him. To much vocus on Paul Pierce and his trophy and not much of Rhondo and allthe other players. Way too much of the fans and what they were wearing. Wich I could say that my husband & I enjoyed your showintg of it but we seitched channels before it was half over. I will tell you that we love watching you and Maria at 10 Pm and faithfuly I watched the morning news every day.

Yes Ock it was missing something. Those 20 some odd idiots that ruined it for so many. They should have been walking in the parade wearing shackles, and the crowd throwing those tomato's tainted with salmonella at them.

Mark,
I know what it needed,
It needed the BEEDS like they throw at the MADI GRA,
I'm sure we could have gotten people to do anything for some BEEDS THROWN BY THE PLAYERS

Mark, I heard VB on tv yesterday from the parade saying he's never seen people in a throwback Larry Bird Indiana State jersey before or Paul Pierce Kansas jersey.I think you should take him out to the square one mall more often.I've seen plenty of people wearing them around Boston.

PS I have both of those jerseys in my office.

It was nice to see all the Celtics still in town for The Sox game tonight. These guys are pretty cool.

What a great tribute to the Boston sports teams ....The Celtics were wonderful at Fenway and the Red Socks welcomed them with open arms...
How nice that was to see...too bad all sports teams were not represented....
Keep up the good work!

Celts are back to their winning ways...Now, I have an important question for Mark about Maria: Where'd she get that body from? Where'd she get that body from? Where'd she get that body from? (Will.I.Am :-)

hi Mark
Yes I agree with you, I wished that the players and Doc Rivers would have addressed the public at the end of the parade..like the good ol' parades of yesteryears
