My thinking on that

I think Obama needs to really deliver with his VP choice. Ideally, it's got to be an adult with a management or a national security background.

Hillary will get mentioned a lot. Two crucial names should be Biden or Jim Webb, along with Bill Richardson. Wesley Clark has the military background but is really a Clinton guy.

Kathleen Sebelius, governor of Kansas, is in the mix reportedly. Crazy, longshot options include Chuck Hagel, Claire McCaskill and Mike Bloomberg.

He needs first to deliver the specifics of what he intends to change, and how he would accept being measured on his success at those changes.

It's a moot point. Obama cannot win. It's the omly thing Hillary and I agree on.
Sam Nunn is the only person to give the ticket any type of foreign policy/defense of this nation status. But considering former Senator Nunn has long understood that America's defense should be a #1 priority, I'm guessing Obama's not his type of guy.

Biden has a ton of foreign policy experience from the Senate, goes to Iraq regularly and has a son who served or is serving in Iraq.

Webb is another liberal war hero. He was Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs, and Secretary of the Navy for Reagan

Clark was a General.

Good experience to me....

Hardly ever agree with Chip, but I'm afraid he's right. Hillary might as well start planning her 2012 campaign.

He plans to change our dollars into a quarter, a nickel and a dime. He should follow the lead of Tricky Dick Nixon, who was smart enough to pick someone so truly bad, that no one would dare assassinate him. If he only had a George McGovern to run against, he'd be all set.

Obama's VP needs to be anyone BUT Hillary. No amount of whining or blackmail on her part should get her there. Someone please show Hillary the door.

Nelly, I disagree. Clinton would be the best choice for VP. No matter what you think of her as a person, she has what Obama needs and that is many more years of firsthand experience and 18 million additional/potential Obama voters.

Obama has a message of change which is great and needed but we also need to be realistic and balance that message with tough love politics.

I'm not looking forward to cheering for Obama but will do so because no matter what I think of Senator Obama as a person....he's not going to be a President of war and he will not take away my rights as a woman ...It *ain't* Hillary but that's enough for me.

My dislike of Hillary is not personal. Some of the things she has said, and her visible attitude is what concerns me. The RFK comment, as anexample. Imagine what she could possibly say talking with a foriegn leader that we have a tenuous relationship with. If she is this much of a loose cannon here in America, who is to say what insults she will come up with. It has nothing to do with her being a woman, it has nothing to do with who's wife she is..it has to do with the fact that I simply cannot trust her to be diplomatic, as she has already shown, or to be truthful, as she has shown by her "sniper" comments. Obama cannot and will not choose her as VP.

I doubt Hillary will be VP. But, she wouldn't say something that confused different Muslim sects or sing about bombing Iran like McCain.

I think Obama will pick either Biden, Bill Richardson or Gov. Rendell of MI.

personally ive given up. I'm waiting to hear who McCain wants for VP. because hopefully it will be someone with a brain that can actually lead this country into some kind of sensable order when mccain becomes unable to serve.

I agree with MattyG. Wait until the debates. Obama has really become polished in front of the camera answering questions. McCain is not very good and I believe will lose his temper many times.

what about Charlie Rangel? Old charlie drafted legislation back in 2003 to restart the draft. He then tried to suggest that it was "Bush's doing". You've gotta love ole' Charlie, when it came to a vote, even he didn't vote for his own amendment. LOL

I was so hoping for Jim Webb of VA. He's a real tough-guy.
