Moogie's Blog

Funny, old Ralph is at the spoiler game again. He is known to be a Hillary-basher, so one would have thought he would choose to support an opponent of hers who now has a chance at defeating her. He will hand the Presidency to John McCain, won't he?

Ralph's followers are misinformed, in most cases. Ralph does not own a car, or real estate, it is true. But he is smart and well-provided-for, so what is true on paper is not the true picture. Wake up, wanna-be warriors !

Ralph claims to live on $25,000 per year. I know many people who could manage that, if their housing were FREE, meals were FREE, transportation were FREE. That leaves clothing (FREE?) and with $25,000 free money I would feel like a millionaire-ess!

Obama supporters may be starry-eyed, Hillary's may be determined, but Ralph's are delusional !

PS Thank you, hard working and underpaid Ralph-led researchers, who over the years have made cars safer!

moogie, you seem like a woman who spends all day thinking. ch 11 ought to consider thinking as one of the top qualities of an on-air person!

I agree with Paul. As a matter of fact Moogie, your last comment on your O post, even made me think! Im still trying to figure out what you meant. This is what I think it might mean, please tell me if I got it right (or wrong)

"I think alot of people are looking at him as a way to put the past behind us."

Are you saying that Americans see Obama winning the presidency as proof that wrongs from the past have been amended, or want to make amends, so that’s why they vote for him? That was an interesting comment you made, deep.

Nader cant spoil anything the last time he ran he got 0.3% of the vote..he most likely wont even get that this time ..if Obama Or Clinton want to use him as an excuse they better think again..Clinton if nominated wont win because she is a woman (yeah i said it ) and no man is going to want a woman president at least not anyone who lives with one..second she is a Clinton who sold this country out to foreign investors that we are still suffering from today thanks to Bubba..as for Obama ..hes not going to win if he is nominated because he is black (yeah i said that too)..all this support he is getting now from white males is because once again they don't want a woman president all the support he is getting from both independents and republicans are the ones not totally happy with the choice of McCain..and because of the division between blacks and hispanics and the fact McCain has a repor with the Hispanic community makes him an easy winner all the way around despite what the polls say, and no matter what Ralph Nader isn't going to make one bit of difference.

Nader isn't a spoiler and he never has been. To suggest that he has spoiled past elections or that he might spoil this one is ridiculous. Al Gore lost that election all on his own. Ralph is a stand-up man who brings up important issue.

Lastly, Ralph's supporters aren't "delusional" as you claim. They are people who are tired of the BS people like McCain, Clinton, and Obama spew when they flap their gums.

o0lux0o, I hope you are right. What I see when I see Nader is a big ego, well suited for advocacy but unsuited for elected office.

Here's a very interesting study of his personality, I think.

craftyguy you said what people are thinking, or at least wondering about...it will be interesting to see if a good ole boy can vote for either Clinton or Obama !

it seems to me that everyone is afraid to say anything about either candidate because of political correctness i can understand it on television where if you say anything your fired or suspended its such a crock but if you talk yot your friends or neighbors who aren't under scrutiny i think they will tell you why they aren't voting for one or the other or why they are my guess it isn't about experience hopes and dreams it seems to me the so called party of unity is voting against more than voting for a candidate .what make anyone think November will be any different..

crafty's right, I didn’t like the idea of a female President at one time....but, I kept an open mind and if the female candidate's better qualified than the others, why shouldn’t she be President? People might think like crafty, but if they keep an open mind, they'll come around and in the end vote for the best suited to do the job. male or female or of any race.

Crafty, what if Condee was running instead of McCain as the Republican nominee against either Hill or O, would you vote for her?

yes i would ..she not only has experience but is conservative ..i don't like either Clinton or Obama because Clinton is all about as she said last night a vote for her is a vote for women even though she didn't use those words..she is also a liberal and a Clinton ..i know you may think Bill was an asset to this nation but i couldn't stand him and disliked his wife even more ..as for Obama to me he is the country's worst nightmare he is a super liberal no better than an AL sharpton or a Jesse Jackson..or even a Louis farrakhan who he denounced only after Hillery made him do it...that's a wimp to me..i really don't mind seeing a woman or African American for president i just don't think it will come from a liberal side ..if general Powell had run i believe he would have become the first African American president because he was a man of substance who served his government and rose from nothing to a great leader and was respected ..as with Ms. Rice..Clinton comes off as more of a man than Obama..they seem like just two whiners ..who would want that anyway ?then you through in the fact shes a woman and hes black man or half black it makes them seem even worse to any hard working American white male who thinks they are going to get the shaft because we are usualy the target of hatred by liberals..somehow its our fault everything is wrong in this country but if we speak the truth we are called racists .i said it many times the first African American or woman president will come from the republican side..it will be someone with strong family values and a strong love of this count

I understand everything you’re saying. Great points crafty. I agree with you on Condee and Powell. I really liked Obama in the beginning to though. When I first saw him interviewed, I was amazed. I thought he would make a great President...but, then one learns all kinds of things and its easy to change your mind. I wonder if that would happen should Condee or Powell be nominated.
I agree with you on how people that are a part of two races, say they’re from one over the other. How does one decide that anyways? Maternal or Paternal background? Shouldn’t they make it a point to say they’re from both?

Great comments !

I vote yes on Powell, no on Rice.

Dasvics, your other question took a little thought (which is good)...I think that this is what I mean...

There have always been racists, just always have been. We also have a unique strand here in US politics of people who exploit racism. That is, instead of solving the problems that attend racism (lack of education, lack of opportunity in employment, poverty, lack of health care, and on and on), they exploit racism. That is, they manipulate public opinion, focus upon themselves (or an organization of their own making), and sometimes even obtain funds by coercion and intimidation. Anyone can read up on the history of Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton and their claims to fame, being the most publicly visible examples of that type of exploitation. I daresay these gentlemen (and don't get me wrong, I think Al Sharpton is one of the smartest guys around!) have set back equality by a couple of decades. No racisim, no fame for Jesse and Al. It is a "niche business" which thrives when things are bad and shrivels when things are good.

I view race on a biological level, where it does not exist. I am loathe to discuss race at all. I see no reason for racism nor any reason to exploit racism. I just want people to act decently to each other, no matter into what family they were born.

Okay, hold onto your seats, fellow conservatives (for that is what I am, despite being a bleeding heart liberal on many matters). Because it is just possible, that Obama may be to our generation what Gandhi was to his. We do not

Obama represents everything Bush was not. Everything McCain is not. He will build consensus and unification when he makes his decisons. McCain will be pushed way to the right by his fellow conservatives because they view him as too far left.

Obama is no Gandhi hes more like Nelson Mandela who seemed to be for the people but in reality was just another Marxist who destroyed his nation. he (Obama)just makes a lot of feel good speeches to a bunch of people who know nothing about this man..its not hard to get the youth fooled they no nothing of life (see comment above)but know even older people are being sucked in by this charlatan..the man wont even wear the American flag on his lapel..his wife said for the first time in her life she was proud to be an American..its no wonder Louis Farrakhan endorsed this man and it took almost threats by Clinton do make him denounce it ..this man is the black sheep of the democratic party and not in a racial way..
