You may not have noticed, but the hottest team in Boston right now is not the Celtics or Boston College, it's the Boston Bruins. That's right, the B's are smoking hot right now, and after beating Atlanta 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday, have now won 6 straight games! Amazingly, the Bruins are now just 4 points out of 1st place in the Eastern Conference.

My question to you is....Does anyone care? Let's face it, the B's have been awful for a while now, and aside from diehard puck fans, not many people in Boston have paid them any mind. Now that they are playing well, are you going to follow them? Go to the Garden? Dig out your old Cam Neely jersey?

I'd love to hear your thoughts....

They should advertise more. I do agree that it's been a long time that they have stunk. I know for me personally, it's a weather thing. I love baseball in part because it's warm. But we don't know any of the Bruins players, I think we do need "Sea Bass" to promote the team.

I actually purchased 2 tickets a while ago to see Sidney Crosby and the Penquins. Of course he got injured and didn't play, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well the Bruins played. Now all we need is to get Jeremy Jacobs to sell the team to someone like Bob Kraft.

I care! I've watched every game so far and been to 3 or 4. Here are some reasons to dig the Bruins this year.

Milan Lucic: Looch is 19 years old and is drawing comparisons to Cam Neely, in fact, Cam has been tutoring Looch on some of the finer points of the game. He hits, fights, plays hard and even knocks the puck in the back of the net here and there. He's also funny as hell and is one of the most well spoken 19 year olds I've ever heard. Do a Youtube search for some of his fights (especially vs. Tarnasky, Clarkson and Bell)

Mark Savard: Almost as skilled enough to make you think "Joe who?". 'Savvy' leads the NHL in assists and does something amazing on every shift.

Zdeno Chara: The Captain got a bad wrap last year because of a horrible coach who left him on the ice more than half the game and wouldn't let him fight. Big Z set a career high in points already, has a great +/- and is playing like an angry, angry man (Youtube "Chara vs Koci"). Should be a Norris Trophy finalist.

The Kids: Boston has had to make due with alot of help from their young stars, due to injuries. Right now my favorite line to watch is The Kid Line, Lucic (19), Phil Kessel (20) and the old man David Krecji (21).

Claude Julien: Has to be the front runner for coach of the year. The Bruins have already matched their point total from last year and there's still 17 games left to go. They're doing it without their best all around player (Patrice Bergeron), a Defenseman (Andrew Alberts), the projected #1 goalie (Manny Fernandez) and their top goal scorer (Glen Murray, who's now

They're doing it without their best all around player (Patrice Bergeron), a Defenseman (Andrew Alberts), the projected #1 goalie (Manny Fernandez) and their top goal scorer (Glen Murray, who's now back). Plus the B's are playing fun hockey... hitting people, skating hard and getting along. You can tell the chemistry is there.

Playoff hockey is THE best experience, so I suggest to everyone to get on the bandwagon while you still can. The Garden has been packed the last few games, hopefully it stays that way.

I care. Maybe if the sportscasters in this town didn't always dump on them things would be different.
As for diggin out a jersey I will be wearing my Gerry Cheevers on proudly.

It's hard not to ''dump'' on a team that allows 19 goals in a 3-game span especially after apparently playing their best hockey in a long time with 6 wins in a row.

Care about the Bruins?

When will the owners stop taking the fans hard earned money watching a inferior team and get some real NHL players here. Jacobs has had the same approach since the 80's and stays away from the big name star player that would cost him big bucks. Instead he has the GM bring in 2nd and 3rd line guys and maybe a lower rung star.

Neeley emerged as a young player who developed as a great power player. Bourque was drafted and it goes on.....

A Tchuck is available but no move was made. Forsberg, Karyia, the list goes on. Chara was brought in but that is a small step that needs another 3-4 big name players to make this team a contender.

Boston fans have seen the recent moves by the Celtics to come back to being a top tier team. The Patriots and Red Sox have brought championships to Boston and the Bruins just keep putting subpar players on the ice.

You are what you are. It is what it is.

Sound familiar?

I care about the Bruins. As a matter of fact I do get out my Neely shirt out and wear it and my other Bruins stuff. I never miss a game. I'm one of their biggest fan.

I do think that we do have a shot into the playoffs, with the line of Savard and Sturm and Murray. Also don't forget the young guns line of Lucic and Kessel and Krecji. Their have been a lot of other players that have steped up to the plate like Big Z. Who has been awsome right at the point and making the defense of plays.

Also Tim Thomas and Alex Auld has been awsome in net lately. If they keep it up then they can go far in the standings.

So I am a Bruins Fan that does care.

Go Bruins!

After their hot streak, the defense in front of Tim Thomas and Alex Auld is very cold. They better get better defense or they will play themselves out of the playoffs. I do care about hockey...and hopefully both the Bruins and the Blue Jackets get into the playoffs.

they had a year off,, and got REAL rusty. I use to love hockey, being from Boston and , when I was a teen, my favorite team was......... sorry, Montreal.. back in the 70s, sports were sports, names like Orr, espo, Ken Dryden (my favorite)!,cheevers, Sanderson, I could go on.. Bruins were good, no, excellant back then.. what ever happened? players where content with making a , good , amount of money, they had no agents, and the games were great.. now, you offer a player (in any sport) 5 million a year, and they are insulted.. dang, a family of 6, can live quite comfortably on 5 million a year, heck, 2 million a year too.. what ever happened?
