I want to be the first to post after the story that Fox ran on the divestment of Fidelity. This venture took nothing less than heroism. The brutal genocide in Darfur, Sudan, is largely unnoticed because of the media's neglect of the humanitarian crisis. This courageous attempt to bring it to the public eye, with an informative segment, was superb. Divestment is an important step to ending this crisis, along with politcal/UN pressure and pressure on China. KUDOS FOX! Keep it up!

Like to second that.
About time this kind of things gets reported.
And I'm very impressed as Fidelity is a big local company with a lot of clout.
Major chutzpah Fox25!
Good on you.

Responsible investment is god ethics and good business. Genocide is never profitable.

This story absolutely floored me. Well done, FOX25! I hope this story puts a serious dent in Fidelity. I was shocked by Fidelity's response to the Mass. Coalition to Save Darfur, as well as their reply to FOX. I'm so glad this has been exposed. The global abandonment of Darfur has been heartbreaking - we do not need a U.S. company actually financing these atrocities.

I'll tell you this..if I owned a Fidelity fund (I don't), I'd be selling it in a New York minute. It is the responsibility of every "patron" to vote with his/her wallet.

Their reaction left me dumbfounded! They basically said they don't care as long as their shareholders make a profit. Does that mean they would fund Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden if they could get a return there too? Talk about corporate responsibility, I hope there is a HUGE backlash to this.

This story is a big public service. Keep it up FOX25!

I had 25k in a Fidelity fund that included Petro China in it's portfolio. I've since moved it to one that does not have either of these oil companies in it's portfolio.

I can vote with my feet and my money, Fidelity needs to understand this.

I have a Fidelity Fund, and none of it is invested in energy. You may want to do a little more investigating, on investing money anywhere. Fidelity was unfairly singled out, nearly all, and I mean all investment houses, have been investing in energy that is tied to Danfur, Sudan, Africa, Russia, South America, Iran, Iraq, on and on.

China has been using slave labor (children) to make everything that we consume in America. How many of you wear Nike clothes?

I agree 100% that we should not be funding, or investing in genocide, that's an obvious answer.

I want to know why Fidelity was singled out?
