Just listening to the music today, wondering if people get that nostalgic feeling, like I do, from songs from your own "Hay days".  Today "Benny and the Jets" came on, and I was thrown into a teenage era, at the beach, partying, loving, happy... not a care in the world!  What songs bring you back?? Puts a smile on your face??? Gives you such a warm, fuzzy feeling that you want to share...

Queen? Beatles? Rolling Stones? Metallica? Led Zeppelin? too many to mention...

Love'm all Jov! I remember hanging out the Boston Garden, watching people climb the walls in the early 70's trying to get in to see the Rolling Stones. We hung out there, just to hear them from the outside.
What was your first concert?
The first concert, I ever attended was the Kinks, with a back up band you may know...Aerosmith, they've come a long way from back-up band...lol

When I climb into my own personal "way-back" machine, Suzie, it only takes me to the mid eighties. If that doesn't seem very far back to you, let me just say that I have a daughter who was born in 1989 and is now married with two kids of her own.
I'm only 38 - which, to my kids, is "ancient". The "newest" of those bands (Nirvana) is from the early nineties. Most of them are from the mid-eighties.
My first concert was Billy Idol at the Orpheum in Boston back in '83. ...And I did see the Rolling Stones (for the record) during their "Steel Wheels" tour back in '89.

Aerosmith has certainly come along ways Suzie, I live on the South Shore and I run into Steve Tyler all the time. It's so funny now when we do see each other we just say hello shake our heads and start to laugh. Another person I see a lot is Andre Tippet who used to play for the Patriots. These two guys are extremely very nice to talk to and are always polite.
I was at Woodstock and can remember how hot it was with no bathrooms around, a real mess, bodies everywhere people drinking, drugging, having sex right in the open you name it, and it was there. After doing Woodstock I could never be around crowds again, paranoia sets in real quick, so for me to go to a concert today is out of the question. Can not do the crowds.
For me it was a great time to grow up and I wouldn’t change a thing, I loved every minute of it, and when I hear these old songs, it brings me right back to a place I loved and enjoyed. I’ll take those days any time Suzie.

OMG Jovanone, I want to hang out with you...lol. I love Steven Tyler, I want to see if he's as hunky in person, I just bet he isn't...;) Sorry about Woodstock, that was a little before my time, but I WAS a bit of a hippy...neru (SP?) jackets, bell bottoms...I'm glad that little fad didn't last too long..lol
Graham...you're right, that isn't very "way back" for me...my son who is 32, loves Nirvana, so I know they are an "alternative" rock. I would have loved to SEE the "Stones", instead of listen to them through a wall...lol, I'm jealous, they're definitely one of my "faves".
Beatles, and Rod Stewart, Supremes and even Petula Clark, WildJim, with her "boots are made for walkin". I love alot of the artists you mention.

Earlier tonight while I was in my car going to visit my mother in the nursing home I was listening to Barry Scott and the lost 45's on 103.3. Talk about memories. They were doing story songs. "Half Breed" by Cher came on and I started to laugh. Concerts were my favorite thing when I was a teen. My first concert was The Edgar Winter group. Back then I was lucky enough to see a lot of them. "Yes" was one of my favorites. I saw David Bowie in his early days, The J Geils Band, The Allman Brothers, Jackson Browne, Bob Seger, Aerosmith about a million times. My husband and I saw Heart, The Little River Band and The Eagles at the Yale Bowl in 1980. What a show. We used to go to the Cape Cod Coliseum and see shows-Santana, Mott the Hoople. OMG the list is endless. I would have loved to see Bruce Springsteen back then. Not a big Stones fan. Deep Purple was another one I loved. I had tickets to a Led Zeppelin concert at the Garden but it ended up being canceled because of a riot when the tickets were being sold. My dad once bought out a section of the Garden for a "Yes" concert for my brother and me to bring our friends. Fun. My all time favorites? Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Harry Chapin and Bob Seger. I took my son to a Bob Seger concert in Rhode Island for his 15th birthday (his first concert) and my youngest to
see The Bare Naked Ladies in Worcester for his first.
