Am I the only one who sees "One-Termer" in my tea leaves for Deval Patrick? He barely gets along with members of his own party, he spent the first year of his term of office making amateurish mistakes (drapes, desks, cadillacs, his wife's secretary etc.) Who exactly is advising the Governor? Who told him that he didn't need to make an appearance at the fire scene where the Boston firefighters were killed? "No problem, Governor-wait until your five week vacation is over-the grieving family and stunned firefighters will understand-oh and be sure to announce that Romney left the state budget in a severe state of deficit in the same week that you buy $17,000 worth of curtains for your office. Nobody will notice the Cadillac upgrade, either." Make the federal bust of New Bedford bust of illegal immigrants about getting them sent back to Massachusetts-not about the failure of the federal and state government to communicate." It is bad enough that he doesn't catch onto the unbelievably bush-league political blunders but, he is paying a bunch of hacks to give him this bad advice.
Could it be that he has failed to replace the old Romney hacks and they are secretly sabotaging him? No wait, there has been no shortage of blatantly obvious high-level appointments made in order to reward contributors and supporters-but if they are only hacks and don't know the first thing about running the government, then who is? The same old hacks appointed by the previous governor? What do you think? Can Patrick win reelection or is he a one-termer? Sabotage from within or monumental incompetence?
