It looks like casual Fridays are coming to an end on Beacon Hill.

VB, You really have no right to talk about casual Friday's when The Morning News on Friday is Zip Tripping around Ma. You talk about the irresponsible behavior of the speaker, when on Fridays you're lucky to get a half hour of news out of 4 hours. Your sneakers and Doug's T-Shirts make it casual every day at Fox 25. VB you live in that Glass House across the street from The State House....Stop throwing stones.

VB, We DO know that if Sal doesn't want casual Fridays anymore, there won't be...no matter WHAT the other people who work there think...lol. What Sal wants, Sal gets! Perhaps they should hold a non-binding vote in the State House on casual Fridays? Oh yeah! Never mind!

VB, it's the summer. Casual Friday's is a moot point. Didn't you hear? Sal's going to shut down the State House from Thursday night to Monday mornings. /he's gonna "save" us taxpayers a slew of dough on a/c usage. Now if they could only harness the hot air?

Personally I don't care what they are wearing on Beacon hill as long as they are doing their jobs. And about VB not being able to talk about casual fridays when the morning news on friday is the zip trip, if you don't like the zip trip, don't watch fox 25 on fridays, watch another channel. And I think there just a bit of difference between the irresponsibilities of the speaker of the house and VB and Doug wearing sneakers and t-shirts. By the way, I think CNN runs all day if you don't get enough news from fox 25.

Yup I think there is a difference between the people running the state and the people trying to put on and entertaining morning news show. But what either is wearing? Who cares as long as they are doing their jobs. Obviously the ones running the state need to be doing a better job

As a retailer, we have a fairly strict dress code--men have to wear a collared shirt and tie, no jeans or t-shirts. Until 5 years ago, women could not wear sleeveless items, they had to war a shirt with a cap over the armpit! I believe a dress code gives one a measure of professionalism and dignity. And I do believe that the Fox morning news team exemplifies that sort of professionalism as warranted. I mean, Doug is in a copter so it is righteous that he has a little leeway--and he wears plenty of colorful handsome shirts and hey, he looks good in anything! VB usually has a tie on and he broadcasts from the ragged streets of Boston. So yeah, I think there should be a crackdown on the dress code at the state house; it is right and proper.

I never see anyone at the state House. I dont care how they dress to be perfectly honest. At my place of business we have casual fridays. Jeans and sneakers are approprate then. So happy that tomorrow, Thurs, we are having the Celtics Rally and can wear jeans and sneakers plus our Celtics gear!

At the risk of sounding "old," I remember when "Casual Fridays" became more popular. Back then, "Casual Friday's" meant that you didn't have to wear a tie (guys), and maybe you could get away with some slightly more comfortable skirt-suits (ladies).

I'm not sure when jeans and flip-flops came along and became acceptable in the workplace. I just know that I started wearing them and it was OK.

I don't have a problem with jeans, but do we really need to wear foot apparel more appropriate for a day at the beach to the office? And what's with people wearing t-shirts on Fridays? I just don't think it's appropriate... but that's just me.
