I've noticed a few things about how Barack Obama has been acting recently.

This is great ! I thought I was the only one that got that. The Dems crack me up . Obama and his speeches about this or that is getting so old. Yada , yada , ya!

I mean ,ever time something happens with him, he and his campaign go:" we need to do a speech !" Please! It's gotten so tired! It usually happen when he or his wife's put their foot in their mouths. Man, these 2 individuals went to Harvard ? Really? But hell Kerry (another Dem) was good at it too.

Besides, who asked him to speak on something like it's the first time and hasn't been said already. It's like Obama , we know that already -not original dude .....

I've noticed that it is inexcusible to allow his surrigates to do the dirty work and he comes off smelling like roses in the drive-by media. I think every time that happens, he smells more like a cheap perfume.

C’mon.. Obama needs gimmicks to get elected.

He denies half of the stuff he did or said that is recorded on tape and the media agrees it never existed even though it is all over YouTube.

He has no background to point to as an example of who he really is, what he stands for or what he WILL do as President. His wife is off limits. We can’t talk about his associations with radical people anymore. So what is left that is safe?

Gimmicks!

If you can't discuss Obama's wife or his "associations with radical people'' then what is left? Issues that affect people's lives and our country's security. But, we know McCain has nothing serious to offer us in those areas which is why people like NorthernObserver lament the lack of interest in non-issues.

Oh, WJC sex jokes a decade later...talk about no creativity.

Matty,
Please list in detail why you believe B.H. Obama is qualified to be the next United States President.
To start, if you will, could you please explain to me how allowing the price of gas and oil to "slowly" creep up is a "good thing"? I still haven't gotten my head around that one yet. But I'm sure you'll have the answer. I get the part where Americans will drive less, but who's going to tell Mother Nature that we can't have any cold this winter because Barack says we need to cut down?

You're right Matty, there's not much there to start with. But as Mr. Obama's ties to the organized crime structure that is inbedded in the Chicago community are slowly exposed, it will become clearer and clearer that this man is but a cardboard cutout with others pulling his strings. His 130 "present" votes make it clear that the man's not ready for prime time. Even a koolaid drinking drone like yourself can see the man can't stay on one side of an issue. What's going to happen when he comes back from Iraq and says we need to finish it right? Oh, and then in the next breath say that we need to attack Pakistan. The man's a loose cannon with diarrhea of the mouth. And people like you are his guppies.

Maybe John McCain can explain the concept of inflation to you to see what prices going up slowly means vs. going up a lot quickly.

Here's an example: gas is up $1 since McCain became the GOP frontrunner. Gas going up $1 in five months is bad.

Gas was $1.31 in Dec. of 2002. Gas was $1.71 in Dec. of 2004. An increase of $0.40 in two years is easier to handle.

Now, as for Iraq...Happyg, tell us, what if Obama goes to Iraq and Iraq tells him they want a timetable for the U.S. to withdraw? Then what?

Well gee Matty, I think they've already suggested that. You know, now that they're able to walk their streets without fear. But I'm sure they would have preferred BO's original, "unrevised" plan, which was to "cut and run" and leave them to their own demise. But something tells me Matty, that the "time-table" that is discussed, isn't going to be to your, or your liberal "friends" liking.

Uh, Matty? How come no mention of the price rise since your democrat "friends" took over Capital Hill?
As for economics Matty, have you ever heard of "supply and demand". When supplies increase beyond demand, the price falls. Economics 101. Northeastern University
Drill early, drill often, drill today.

Since I'm on record as being against a rapid withdrawal from Iraq, you'll need to ask those "liberals" about their "timetable". My point was, of course, that now the government of Iraq is against McCain's perpetual surge. In essence, Iraq agrees with the 80% of Americans who think we are on the wrong path.

The price of gas/oil has risen since the Dems took Congress. But, what's really driving prices higher and higher is the instability in the Middle East. That is a direct result of the neocon invasion of Iraq.

Guy Caruso of the government's Energy Information Administration (EIA) said simply drilling won't fix the problem. Bush's own guy said Happyg's plan won't work.

Uh Matty, you are aware that the "surge" troops are all back home, aren't you?
Oh and Matty, not "drilling" is what got us into this mess. For thirty years the eco-terrorists have thrown a momkey wrench into any and all plans to build refineries and drill for our own oil. Have you ever wondered what would happen if instead of exporting our American dollars to foreign nations, we allowed American companies to keep it in this country? Do you think maybe our dollar would be worth more than seventy cents? Drill now, drill later and drill the day after that. It's a proven reliable energy source. And yes Matty, of course we should fast track R&D on alternatives, but it should be done with private capital, with profit as the incentive. You know, the system that made this country great.

I wasn't talking about the "successful" surge, and you know it.

We all noticed how you dodged the point I raised about Iraq's government wanting a timetable for withdrawal.

You don't get it about oil. If you were a drunk, would you fix your drinking problem with more beer?

Drilling more just puts the problem off further into the future. The big push has to come on finding alternatives to oil and not drilling for more of it.

You're a relic and people like you will turn America into one as well.

Matty,
Your liberal "friends" have decided that Americans must reduce their accustomed standard of living so they can feel good about not "warming the planet". Here's a clue Matty, the planet stop "warming" nine years ago. In fact, many of the same scientists who in 70's told us the Ice Age was coming, then the great "Global Warming melt", are now looking back over their 1970's notes and may once again predict a new Ice Age. Get a clue Matty. The earth has been warming and cooling for hundreds of thousands of years. Believe me when I tell you, in the great scheme of Mother Nature's plans, liberals really aren't that important.

That's right Matty, we'll all just put an extra coat or two on while the R$D contiues on. Someone should have thought of developing alternatives before. They should have asked you Matty. You would have told them. In fact I bet you already have developed an eco-friendly energy source that you're just waiting to market. Well if so Matty, please, announce it soon. Mother Nature told Obama and the rest of the Dems that she's not cancelling winter and they'll just have to pay $5-7 a gallon of just freeze to death. Those liberals, such an elite, but at the same time, compassionate bunch. Ignorance is bliss, and you prove it daily Matty.

I'm not sure when we turned to global warming on this thread. Wait. I do know. We turned to global warming when Happyg discerned it had been defeated. We went from inflation to crime in Chicago to economics to Iraq to R&D and then to global warming.

Right now, I'm more concerned about people getting to work than the environment. Leave it to a conservative to start a class war. No one has suggested our standard of living has to drop. Liberals want us to FINALLY find a new way to keep our standard of living high while getting off of oil.

Pick a warm sweater or a nice blanket, or even turn your fireplace on if you don't like coats. Your reflex call for drilling won't fix the problem and the current executive branch of our gov't admits it.

I cannot wait until Obama is president. Oh, how I cannot wait. Maybe some more minds will open, maybe more people will start to think about someone other than "me, me, me"...
