I find it rather amusing that after all the contraversy surrounding who to pick for his V.P. that "B.O." chose Hillary to be one of his female 'strong arms' to sway the women's vote in his direction. First, snub her so you don't look weak then use her to further your cause does not sit well in my mind. While I must admit, the Palin pick made me queazy. I must further admit, I could not have been more wrong in my original thought.
Sarah Palin is going to eat Joe Biden alive in their debate. Does anyone realize that even Joe Biden voted "Yes" on matters that supported Bush 70% of the time? So much for being a steadfast Democrat. Did I say steadfast Democrat? that's about as solid a statement as I like my eggs over easy but not runny.
I will add that B.O. agreed with Bush 40% of the time. My guess is on the other matters he just voted "present."
Pat was walking down the street and having a conversation with Chris. Suddenly Robin came running up to join them. They kept the conversation going. They all thought it quite peculiar that the "House" was looking to have a gender neutral law put into place. Chris wanted to know if it would impact restroom usage. Pat asked if CO-ED showers at college would become a thing of the past. Robin wondered if it would make drinking white zin more masculine or feminine. Along came Sam. Sam was a slower walker than Pat, and usually walked with Stacey and Tracey. Jody came along and talked about a hat trick scored in the CO-Ed hockey league they play in Stacey worked in retail, Pat as a server at a resataurant, Sam was a massage therapist. Pat works as a nurse and plays on the company softball team. Tracey is a lawyer, Stacey teaches math at a local university. Who are the males and females in this group of friends?
If a bill is passed in an empty house, does it make a sound?
Does it being called a "Bill" defeat the purpose of Gender Neutrality?
Funny that it is a Presidential Election year and we here in the "Great State" of Massachusetts decide that we have an extremely important matter to decide, not gay marriage, not illegal aliens, not even casino gambling Dog Racing. That's right, we can't vote on Gay Marriage or finding better ways to get rid of illegal "crimigrants" but we find a way to put a real dog on the ballot.
Wake up people!
Let's get to some real issues that plague us everyday(please note my intended sarcasm). Check out your local supermarket, you have people outside on weekends with greyhounds, bemoaning the horrible plight these dogs face at the tracks. I don't work at a track, I don't gamble at the track, but I really don't feel this issue is worth putting on the ballot.
If you remember back in 2000, this was on the ballot. Funny how the MASPCA is listed on the question in the Vote No column(vote No keeps dog racing legal). I wonder why the MASPCA would say no? Is there more to this bill that we are missing?
My point is this, I love dogs, I think they make great company, do I care if they are treated well at a Dog track? I suppose, but I would much rather spend time dogging more important matters(crimigrants and gay marriage), than waste it on what is sure to bring us the "dog days" of summer deal. Woof!
When did it besome trendy and acceptable to blame everyone but yourself for your actions?
My parents neglected me, therefore I do bad things.
The system let me down and shut off my welfare.
I can work, but due to a loophole, I can suck the system dry and never work again, and that is what I do.
I had a book deal pending, and while it was my most important piece of legislation, I felt my presence was not necessary in the state I govern, to be sure it passed. My legislation was shot down.
McDonald's made me fat, they should pay for my obesity.
I dropped my cell phone on the floor while driving and struck another car while trying to find it under the seat. The Cell phone maker is to blame for making me use their phone while driving.
I have an addiction, mental condition, or I saw it on TV defense, just doesn't fly with me. I have been a victim of insurance fraud, so I know all to well what it feels like to have the 'system' taken advantage of. I have to drive by this persons' house every morning on my way to work and every night when I head home, it pains me to think of all of the other scams they have pulled off. Our legal system is too lazy and lenient on those who scam the system. If they went after the small fish as well as the big game, there would be less fraud, as the small fish couldn't afford to get caught in that type of scandal.
So when do we say enough is enough? People, like me, blog about their discontent, yet I vote and take part in community actvism, unlike so many out there. Our local politician doesn't serve their constituency, they serve themselves. How many politicians can you say actually voted the way "we the people" would have them vote? Yet, they keep doing it, because we don't vote them out of office. So why shouldn't they do what they want? We have allowed the SJC in MA to make a ruling on same sex marriage, this is way outside their boundary line, yet the liberal faction(majority) of the government says "Phew, looks like we can continue to make a ton of money off the taxpayers while dodging an issue important to them, and still get re-elected!" What a great state! What an excellent way to think, "a government by the people, for the people." I thought that is how it still worked, how wrong I am.
Take responsibility people and put some fresh faces on Beacon Hill. Make term limits a reality.
Tell that idiot without the blue tooth if you cause an accident it's your fault.
Let the obese person with the Mickey D's bag know they don't have a thyroid problem, they just need to eat better, and lay off the double quarter pounder w/cheese lg fries and, shocker here, diet coke.
