Well, don't say he has no reason to apologize...that would be an egregious error and reflect a very jaded perspective.
But the fact that all these rappers can say much worse things about their own brothers and sisters, and make shooting each other seem "romantic" and the same people decrying Don Imus' words sit on their hands all the while...well, that's hypocrisy the likes of which I've never witnessed before.

I remember seeing the Imus phone interview and, it seemed to me, that Imus echoed the caller's statement. I forget the caller's name, but shouldn't that person "face the music," too? Imus shouldn't have been fired. He should have been given an opportunity to "make good" and raise the national or, at least, talk radio conscience. He's an old timer and has earned his place. Comedian, Patrice Oneal, is speaking on Hannity & Colmes (as I'm posting this) most incredulously, selfishly, saying that "all the rappers should come to Imus' defense because this is about -- they (the rappers) are next." I think that the truth is the reverse, that Imus, thoroughly stung, could have had impact in reaching the People to, collectively, raise the standard we hold over each other. This isn't a "free speech" issue, rather, it is a "do unto others" issue. Thanks.

He should have apologized but only to the listeners and to the Rutgers basketball team. What he should not have done is apologize to Sharpton. I don't see why he thought he owed Al Sharpton anything. He made Sharpton a legitimate voice in this by going on to his show.

I'm shocked that he was fired. I say watch out to anyone that we decide is offensive now because Staples and the gang have shown themselves to be spineless. All we have to do is threaten boycotts and POOF people will disappear from radio and TV.
