A few weeks ago dramama made me go get a colonoscopy. I'm 53 years old. They found a polyp that was big. I needed surgery they couldn't take it out as an out patient procedure. Two weeks ago I went into surgery and now I am home recovering. The polyp was non cancerous which caused us to rejoice. Because I listened to my wives advice my life has been blessed. If I had waited and not done an exam it would have been a terrible ordeal especially if things got blocked. My sweetheart saved my life. Now I have about 6 more weeks of recovery before I can lift sufficient weights to go back to work. My friends have kept me in their prayers and I can feel the healing hand of our Father in Heaven helping me. A blessing in disguise finding this thing in me.

More good news 3 of my 50 plus friends are getting colonoscopies  soon. I talked them into it. Please if you are 50 go get one they are NOT painful and they will save your life. They take only 30 minutes and they make you a little loopy while they do it. Go do it, please. I am so grateful for my wife's insistence. Where would I be without her?

She's a good woman your wife is for sure. I love reading her blogs and the back and forth chats. We have not always seen eye to eye, but one thing hasn't got to do with another. I wish you well and a colonoscopy is part of my routine heath care. When you are back to 100% you should take her on a trip to New York to see one of those Broadway Show she loves so much Good Luck and God Bless.

Glad to hear you're recovering and that the polyp was benign. You are a lucky man to have such a loving wife in Dramamama. Be well.

Well...sir...you have improved the Happy Quotient of these blogs 100%
I am pointing out that in many of these other discussions, people tend to act like the thing they removed from you......hmmmmmmmmmm.....I see you're acting nicer already......just kidding!

Welcome back, buddy!!! And you know she saved your life LONG before your colonoscopy!!! That is simply her most recent accomplishment. For the record....make that 4 friends. I have a dr's appt in a month for my 6 month check up. I'll be scheduling then.

As messy as it ight be on any given day, I've grown attached to my large colon....

The key is to just make your husband's appointment, and tell them they are showing up. Then handing them their 'colon cocktail' and say 'have fun' for the next 4 hours.

Thanks everybody. Sometimes our busy lives with work cause us to forget that the most precious things (and delicate) is life and our family.

Just an update, stomach muscles are getting better I was able to garden for a while and wash the car and do household chores, not all on the same day. I have been going to Dramamama's play rehearsals to pass the time of day. She is directing Disney's Mulan with the local Arts Alliance. She has 50 kids in the cast. They are practicing the songs and their dancing. They sound great and the dance steps are coming along. I should be back at work in a couple of weeks. My customers have been very understanding and have waited and have been wishing me well. I'm a lucky man. I took some engagement pictures for my best friends kids at the Wayside Inn the other day, that was a lot of fun.
