rockingham park mall, Salem, NH

this morning I was sitting in my car, waiting to get into my store, when I heard a loud bang. Didn't think anything of it, as trucks come and go all the time.
When one of the guys I work with said " um it think you better get out of your car," I look behind me and there is a 2-3 foot section of concrete from the upper deck of the parking gargage swinging in the breeze.. I was like oh no....
so we (all 4 us) proceed to get out as fast as possible, and I call my hubby... he says call 911. as mall security proceeds to hop in their suv and run up to the upper deck.
not one but 2 big holes from the lovely street sweeper who decided to go fast, and jump the speed bumps and cause the damage....
Salem fire did a great job in getting our cars out of there before they cordoned off the ENTIRE parking garage through out the mall... only parking in the open areas of the mall....
thank god no one was hurt, and the garage will be closed untill further notice....

in another way to pork the municipal employess of stoneham, the town is trying to force them to go with the GIC for health insurance.
the only thing I understood is that we are going to pay more for crappy health insurance
does anyone out there have experience with the GIC?
a weird christmas

well it was a weird christmas...
I was one of the lucky ones to score Hannah Montana tickets. I have had them since the end of September. My daughter thinks Im offically the coolest mom in the world. The concert was fun and not as loud as I thought...
Then there was xmas eve day when I left the local methuen bakery and landed on my back after falling on a patch of black ice. I have managed to bruise my knees, ribs and hurt my neck and head.
I lay there looking at the sun, "this is gonna hurt tomorrow" and "is my pastry ok?" spoken like a true italian (although if I was a devoted italian I would've made the pastry instead of cheating lol)
In the true spirit of kindness, a family (total strangers) literallu picked me up off of the street brushed me off , and helped me to my car and told me that everything is going to be ok. They wanted to call me an ambulance.. ahhh no I have people coming over in about 4 hours.
couldn't move on christmas eve and on christmas day and try to work... forget it... I feel like I have an elephant on my chest... (keep breathing im told you don't want pneumonia.)
don't mind me grasping my chest,(I say to one customer who is looking at me strangely) Im not having a heart attack, just trying to breathe. Forget about making me laugh....
so it was a weird christmas weekend, but one i will never forget....
happy holidays!!!!
drug testing for firefighters

All the newspapers have quoted Mayor Menino in his quest for drug testing of the Boston Firefigthers.
I'm kinda mixed on this and I don't know why? I can't seem to put my finger on it...
usually I'm outspoken when it comes from being a wife of a firefighter....
Maybe it's cause we are beaten a dead horse here.... Its NOT going to change what happened. Could it change the future? maybe....
good luck trying to get that in their contract.... I'm sure its gonna go over as well as a fart in church!!
what about those FF's that are way overweight, and can't even button their turnout coat? are there going to be regulations that state they have to be a certain size???
Again, not condoning actions here... just throwing out some comments...
4 alarm fire in stoneham

Ok, here is what I know
when the guys (all 6 of them) got in their trucks at the house, they could smell it so they knew it was bad.
They went to 3 alarms very instantaniously as they arrived (4 buildings down from the house) fire was everywhere.
While they waited for companies amd manpower to arrive the guys did their jobs and them some. Hubby said he doesn't remember much, just that he got or( was outside) the staryed throwing up and the chelsea deputy then asked for the ambulance to take him to the hospital. Where he was diagonised with smoke inhalation. We also found out that another FF went in another ambulance behind him, we don't know if he went to the same hospital or a different one.. I think Hubby was going to call today.
he staggerd in around midnight, (when he wasn't supposed to be home untill 8 am) tried to sneak in, so he wouldn't wake me, but the alarm system we have gave it away.
he is ok, stinky and feels terrible (mentally and physically)
sorry about the spelling, but I too have been up all night.... but wanted to get something posted...
