It seems we have been hearing speeches and watching primaries since Bush took his second term in office. They need to change our primary system in a big way. The candidates start campaigning way to early that by the time the elections come you go into the booth and just vote to get it over with. It starts out with twenty or so and one by one they drop bombs of lead. Finally when the primaries start we have over 6 months of mud slinging and name calling.
This is my proposal 2012. We hold the primaries according to your time zone. Candidates can start advertising in Sept. and on Jan. 2 the primaries begin. first week the eastern time zone votes, followed by central, mountain and west. No need for conventions. Winner take all. No debates till after this point. The whole process should take 6-7 months. I'm sick and tired and I'm not going to take it any more. Yeah Right....

Yes you read it right. Hillary Clinton should leave the Democratic Party and run for President as an Independent. I think this would be her last chance to win the race for President. The Democratic Party has deserted her and she should do the same to them. Let Obama get the Democratic nod and McCain the Republican. Let the people vote and have three choices. If Nader runs well have 4. I think this will be her best shot to win the Presidency. Most of the people that support her say they would not vote for Obama. I won't! I would never forgive myself if I don't vote, so I would vote for McCain or waste my vote with Nader. She needs to do this quick and get people use to this radical idea. I want Hillary to be the next President of the United States. The Kentucky Derby had more than 2 horses run the race. Look what happened to the second place horse. It fell down broke both of it's ankles and was put down.

Oh April flowers may come your way,
They bring the showers and gloom in May.
So if you're freezing have no regret,
June, July and August will surely make you sweat.

I know a girl who is graduating from Dental School. Her parents are coming in from New Jersey for the ceremonies next week, and couldn't be prouder. I find it funny that her mother's question to her was "Why did you pick a profession that hurts so many people". She feels that she will be helping so many people. She's right! In September she starts a years residency in a Newark Hospital and after that she can decide if she wants to specialize or go into a general practice.
How does a person decide they want to be a Dentist? For that matter how does one at such a early age decide anything so hard. When given the choice 37 years ago I choose the Navy. If you didn't go into the service, they said you were running away from Vietnam. After the Navy, college was the last place I wanted to go. Stupid, stupid me.... My nephew went to college for 2 years only to decide at the last moment he didn't like the courses he was taking and decided to drop out and go to a 2 year culinary school. Upon graduation, he took the NY State Police test and is a Trooper Upstate NY. My brother and sister-in-law couldn't be prouder. He and his wife couldn't be happier. She loves the fact, that he does most of the cooking.
To all the GRADUATES out there, I hope all your dreams are fulfilled. If you a graduating from Kindergarten, may you start growing into the person you've yet to relize. If you are graduating from High School, I hope by now you have become the human being we so desperately need. If you are graduating from College, I hope your chosen profession is one that you will love. Wheither you are a Dentist or a State Trooper or a Rocket Scientist, I hope you can do your job with pride and maybe change the world just one little bit if only in your little neck of the woods. My mother would always tell me and my other siblings, it doesn't matter what you become in life just do it the best you can.
Each generation has heard about the crazy times we live in. I know during the 70's the kids were rotten and the world was falling apart. Here we are in 2008 and the world is still falling apart. I hope you Graduates can go forward and help make this place a little better...GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS.....

A little over a month ago a horrible fire took the lives of 2 sisters in South Boston. Huddled together in a closet 14 year old Acia clung to her baby sister of 3 Sophia. All along the fire dept said it looks like something was thrown into the West Sixth Street house. The mother Anna Reisopoulus and Acia's twin brother survived. A biter argument between Anna and her 25 year Lover, romantic partner is said to be what lead up to this heart wrenching event. Nicole Chuminski is said to have had traces of the same accelerate that was found at the house. The fight broke out between the 2 ladies when Chuminski accused Reisopoulus of stealing a wallet from a relative at a wedding. She now faces life + 20 years. The lives of 2 families will never be the same. The day in court Monday will be a very tense scene I guarantee.

I was reading through the news stories this evening and one story caught my eye. It comes out of the Fox Station in Tampa. It seems a 29 year old female teacher has been having sexual relationships with some of her students. So far it appears she has fooled around with 4 boys between 14 and 17. The math tells me about half her age. This took place over the last 2 months and they think that there are more. Now this is the thing that really caught my eye. As I read this story they described these acts in many ways, but never ever was the word raped used. If that was a 29 year old man with a 14 year old female student the word rape surely would have been somewhere in there. In a taped conversation she said that what she was doing was illegal. One boy even described several tatoos she had that only someone who knew her intimately would know. Another boy compared it to the Debra Lafave story. This teacher is in a lot of trouble and will probally face jail. (She is in jail now) I just find the choice of words used in the story to be less criminal and more bad girl. I find a certain double standard when it comes to male and female sexual predators. Come to think of it, Fox should ripe off the show on MSNBC about male predators and stalk female predators...

The fights between Paula and Simon seemed mild this season. Randy's stomach by-pass has lasted as long as last seasons Sanjaya. He was looking good for a while but the stress of the show has plumped him up again. 4 to go and tonight someone goes home. I see in other blogs someone seems to think David A. (don't want to take the time to look up the spelling of his name) should get the boot. I think he's pretty good and will be here till the end. Tonight without a doubt Jason Castro will pack his bags. Yes I dread his locks won't be able to save him. In addition to the fact he literary stunk last night, forgetting the words won't help.

In my 54 years on Earth, I have never been the father of a 2 year old. Sometimes I thank God every day for that. I have in my younger days been blessed with watching children of that age or somewhere in between. I have heard the expression terrible two's all my life. A truer statement has never been written. The baby is just learning to walk and they are into everything. You have to watch their every step. LITERARY!
This is why I am so puzzled on this 21 month baby that fell down a storm drain. How does a mother or father let a child of that age wander off to do something like that? Is it me? I see parents unloading their cars of grocery's or other items and the child stays strapped in to they are done or taken out and placed in safety. Call me crazy, but I can't imagine letting a child off on their own. A storm drain is the last thing I would think my child would fall down, but what about other cars or a dog?
The parents have to thank their lucky stars that 2 men with the knowledge, acted quick enough to save their baby girl. To lay face down in that filthy dirty water for 2 minutes or how ever long it took is just horrifying. I would like to think that these are not bad people. I would also like to think that a very valuable lesson has been learned by them and any other parents who think it's safe to turn your back for even a second. When it comes to a inquisitive toddler a second can be a lifetime.

Do you know what happens when you go to watch a game at Fenway Park on May 2 and it's 45 degree's and raining? It not being fun is the least of the problems. A 7:05 game that doesn't start till 9:30 is not a good thing. Before the first ball is even thrown out, people who drink are pretty wasted to say the least. I bought my friend Lorna to the game with me who had never seen a professional game and Never saw Fenway Park. My favorite seats in grandstand proved to be the only saving grace in a evening of total disasters. The fact that these seats were under cover at least kept us dry. Before we left the house I had the weather on. Even a lay person like myself saw the rain that was left had the slightest cover of Boston. He said (NOT FOX) it's moving east and should be out of here within moments. I figured by the time I walked to Fenway from my apartment it should just about be over. It wasn't. It got worse. We sat and watched the rain pick up intensity and the cold wind blow in. Lorna was raped in two blankets and she was still freezing. It would let up almost to a stop and start all over again. The giant screen was showing the Celtics and I thought if I wanted to see the Celtics I would have stayed home. I was praying for it to be called already and it wasn't. When the crew started to remove the tarp the crowd went wild. I said to Lorna it would still be a half hour before it started. I was wrong, it was 45 min. I know this is the nature of baseball at Fenway or any place for that matter. It really wasn't the 100 dollars any more. I got the tickets a couple of months ago and that money wasn't fresh in my mind any more. I was really excited that Buchholz was pitching. At the third out in the bottom of the 2nd I looked over to Lorna and asked if she was ready to leave and she couldn't say yes quick enough. I was so looking forward for the 7th inning stretch and the 8th inning singing of Sweet Caroline, she would have got a kick out of that. I walked home and 10 minutes later I was watching the game from a warm apartment. I didn't turn Lorna into a Red Sox Fan or a Fenway Park fan. To bad for her.

I was sitting back last night watching American Idol and and couple of things came to mind. I finally relized where I saw that hair cut David Cook sports. When looking at the morning news this morning Kim Carrigan has the same do. Now I know Kim has been wearing that look longer than David, so that means he stole it from her.
As far as I'm concerned, last night should have been the last show. Don't get me wrong I love the show and all, but Paula made one of the biggest mistakes a judge should ever do. While reviewing David Cook's first song, she said "I AM LOOKING AT THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL". How unfair to the other's. What must she have been thinking. Then again we have seen from past seasons, Paula sometimes just doesn't think. Over and over again she proves herself to be a twit.
On a personal note, I find the singing and the instrument playing a distraction. It's hard enough for them as "amateur's" just to sing in front of a live audience, throw in a guitar or piano in, and well some can't walk and chew gum at the same time. I am glad the show is coming to a season's end. I need a rest from Ryan and the three judges.

This story is in no way going to tell you what former Gov. of N.Y. Eliot Spitzer did was right. It wasn't! There are a lot of loser's here, least of which is Eliot Spitzer. How would you feel if you were one of the 2 teen age daughters, not to mention his wife. I can hear some say, "He made that choice". Yes he did. What I need to talk about is other issues. No, I won't go into the details of how a second hooker came forward and brought to light that Mr. Spitzer like to use toys and didn't like to use condoms. The last I heard neither one of those things are law breaking offences.
The biggest worry to me is how all this came to light. To quote a line from the New York Post, "the feds began investigating after Spritzers BANK tipped them about irregularities in an account that he used for his sex romps". This account wasn't a New York State account, it was a personal one. He never used money from any NY accounts. Why would a bank feel the need to do this? Was there concern he was using the money for drug deals? I don't think so. Someone from his bank was being nosey. Someone from his bank felt the need to go beyond their 13 dollar an hour pay and play detective. Do we all have to worry about our bank transactions. If I take out five hundred dollars in one shot will it look like more than just the fact I'm going on vacation and want cash on hand. This was all brought to the light of day because some bank teller decided to play cop. Be careful out there cause now we have to worry about something new. I don't mind if the bank calls me to tell me some irregularities are appearing in my account, I do worry now they may go to the FBI.

If you're for the death penalty are you liberal or conservative? I am thought to be a liberal on many issues. The Supreme Court just ruled that lethal injection is constitutional. Of course it's constitutional. If the death penalty is legal in your state. . I feel without a doubt it's the most humane way to do it. More often than not it's a lot less horrible then the way they took their victims. There was an argument brought fought by a Kentucky Prisoner saying that if administered wrong it can cause pain before death. AWWWH, my heart bleeds. Tough Noogies. If it was up to me they should purposely administer it wrong all the time. Going out shouldn't be a picnic for these criminals. They should make death hurt as much as they did to their victims. I think the Supreme Court did the right thing.

In the words of his lawyer "They were just out for a frolic". Sgt. Franklin was there when the Revere Police Officer was shot dead. While the group of cops drank behind the high school (If that was all they were doing) were confronted by gun drawn teens. He sat at his hearing smug chewing gum non stop, his lawyer called Franklin a victim. His running away from the scene was in the norm of things considering the situation. The situation was that Sgt. Franklin's fully load service revolver sat in some else's truck. That in itself is against the law. I have said from the beginning this is very suspicious that grown men have to sit behind a high school and drink. Something more than drinking was going on. Will we ever know the whole truth? This is more than a mistake in judgement. Yes if It were me or you it would be a mistake in judgement. These men were being paid to protect the community of Revere. Yes even off duty, the presumption they would be there if needed is assumed. This man should be fired. As it stands now, he is on paid leave while this get settled. Why should the people of Revere continue to pay for this EX-police officer. He is guilty just like anyone else involved in this case. One other thing, I think Sgt. Franklin needs to be given a blood test. As an EX-addict I am willing to bet he sat at that hearing high. Anyone for a little toot.

Like a badge of honor kids lined up one by one to talk to reporters. All had smiles on their faces. Those boys even if not directly involved, are just as guilty. Like a pack of wolves picking the meat off a fresh kill surrounded another boy and took turns either kicking or punching or even worse hitting with a pipe.
You could almost picture in your mind the scenario. The halls of this Holden school in between periods crowded with kids going to and fro. *Whispers and chatter like the old ladies at a bingo parlor. "There's going to be a fight" "Get down to the railroad tracks" "Can you give me a ride"? How it started we are not sure, but a fight between two boys in High School is not that unusual. We use to do it in the boys room in my day. I hate that expression in my day, but it's true. No one drove, and certainly cell phones were still another 30 years away.
The video doesn't show who took the first blow. It doesn't show if the boy who got the worst of it was just as guilty. I can't imagine him being totally guilt free. (He went there knowing there was going to be a fight). Come to find out there are many video's of this fight. I haven't checked, but I'm sure several versions are on you-tube. It was a brutal beating and so far as I write this 3 boys have been arrested.
What should the punishment be? Juvenile or adult? Children don't do this kind of thing. Adults don't do this kind of thing. This is a special case and should be handled as such. They should be made examples of. They should go to jail. What we witnessed was intent to murder. The boy is thankfully fine. He shouldn't get away totally free either. Like I wrote earlier he didn't go to the fight expecting to be the loser. The judge should tell the parents to just shut up and pay as well. Parents have to start taking some responsibility for what their children do. This is very upsetting to have to watch. It was also upsetting to have to watch the same thing among girls about a week ago also. These kids are angry about something and there has to be a better way to release it. To steal a line from Shakespeare, "ALL ARE PUNISHED" *and as far as the line old ladies in a bingo parlor, i mean it only in jest. I speak from experience for I am one of those chatterer's in a bingo hall.

You people who don't ride the T may think this new campaign is a good idea. Police were at stations today handing out fliers about this new campaign. On a crowded T if a man touches you, scream out loud take there picture on your cell phone do what ever it takes to get attention. Are you NUTS? If I had a dollar for every time I have gotten touched I'd be rich. The morning and afternoon trains are packed so tight, there is no way someone isn't going to touch you. They are not only talking gropes, an innocent touch can be taken for more than it is. You are going to have a train of paranoid men. I'd like to see the day when a woman starts to scream I touched her inappropriately. My boyfriend and I will take her and the T to court.......
