It seems we have been hearing speeches and watching primaries since Bush took his second term in office.  They need to change our primary system in a big way.   The candidates start campaigning way to early that by the time the elections come you go into the booth and just vote to get it over with.  It starts out with twenty or so and one by one they drop bombs of lead.  Finally when the primaries start we have over 6 months of mud slinging and name calling.

This is my proposal 2012.  We hold the primaries according to your time zone.  Candidates can start advertising in Sept. and on Jan. 2 the primaries begin.  first week the eastern time zone votes, followed by central, mountain and west.   No need for conventions.  Winner take all.  No debates till after this point.   The whole process should take 6-7 months.  I'm sick and tired and I'm not going to take it any more.   Yeah Right....

Something else I've heard that is along the lines of what you propose, is to break up the voting by regions, with a rotating schedule so that each region gets a chance to vote first in a presidential primary cycle over the course of several presidential elections. I think the whole process shouldn't start until January of the last year of the incumbent President's term. I'd separate the voting a little more, have the whole primary process wrap up by June, and then you have a 5-6 month general election campaign. None of it will happen though until we finally remove Iowa and New Hampshire from their first in the nation status.

HM, The rotation sounds good. This first in the nation status stinks. Iowa and NH would fall into the same category has all the other states.

The system worked well enough for a long period of time. Dems wanted to "shake it up" to see if they could get different results. LOL

There's no such thing as poor Fenway. Fenway has a plan no matter what happens. Maybe this has to be done. The world will go on. Hillary should go right to August. Don't feel sorry for Fenway, Feel sorry for yourself to have a man of 72 to choose from and no one else. By the way if you really read my blog, I never mention candidates I talk about the lonnnnng process to get to where we are.

This is my semi annual profile update. Live in the West Fenway section of Boston with my cat Daisy (pictured). Came to Ma. about 30 years ago from Nu Yawk. If we had a conversation you would think I just got off the boat. I lived in Waltham, Bedford, Lowell and now Boston. Never ever was a sports fan in NY. My family hates that I am now a dedicated Red Sox Fan. I was in the Navy, I drove a Taxi in NY, I worked for the VA, and now have a disability retirement from the Post Office. I am a Jewish, Gay man in my mid 50's. I am a registered democrat who has voted for Nixon and Reagan and I don't care what you think about my social or political views.
