Neil Entwistle's mother stepped in front of the cameras outside courthouse in Woburn  with anger in her voice to say under no uncertain terms is her son guilty.   The father did virtually the same thing.   Indignantly she blamed this all on Rachel.  Never again will she hold her son in her arms.  In another state he would have been placed to death.  The Jury read the decision with a quick shut of the eyes and that now famous grin, Neil heard his lot.  I hope you rot in Hell Neil Entwistle.

I agree with you Fenway.. That bastard will get what he deserves and then some in jail. Cry me a river Mrs Entwistle! And for Mr Entwistle to say NE did not get a fair trial? Are you kidding me? His defense did nothing except come up with some lame ass theory in their closing... Have fun in hell Neil!

At times they looked liked bumbling idiots (the defence) What were they to do. They had no choice but to defend him. He should just be glad he had someone to sit at his table. The boys are waiting for him.

When I saw Yvonne Entwistle make her speech I felt ashamed to be British. OK, accept with dignity the fate of your son. Say you still love him, in spite of the terrible crimes. He is pronounced guilty (and all evidence led to that). Say a few words of sorrow for Rachel and Lillian. But to hit out in that aggressive cold, calculating fashion, it was absolutely unforgiveable and lacked integrity and compassion for Priscilla and for the memory of Rachel. It is this kind of denial about the truth of NE that maybe created the narcissist he finally became. I hope you Americans do not think badly about all British people. We are just as stunned and morally outraged at the Entwistles' speeches as you are.

The only injustice here is that we lack a death penalty.

Spark 'm up!!

fairbrit, I would like to think that Americans don't blame the British people for this sad event. This is not a country thing. This is one man who got caught up in a life that unfortunately lead him to this horrific thing. I could see a time in a earlier day that his American in-laws were so proud of their Daughters husband. I for one think the UK is a wonderful friend to the US.

Can you imagine the pain Rachel's parents felt hearing what Mrs E said.... I do understand a mothers love, but the jury got this one right.

That beautiful innocent Lilly's life taken by a cruel heartless man....

Mrs E it was YOUR SON!!

Let's see what the boys at Walpole have in mind for ole Neil.

I do believe it is called denial on the part of Mrs. E...I know it must be a difficult thing for his parents...
What a disappointment to any parent/s however I do feel this jerk had a personality disorder previous to leaving the U.K...if they reflect back I am sure they will see something in his background that did not mesh..
Is it poor parenting? or is it a defective personality?

The best advice NE”s attorney could have give him just before they read the verdict is, “Neil in case this doesn’t go so good, remember this, soap on a rope Neil, soap on a rope.”

fairbrit, I seriously doubt anyone's holding Neil's actions against the UK. Considering as the Hopkington/Mass state police had full cooperation from New Scotland Yard apprehending Neil at his parent's house, there's no reason to think badly upon the people of the UK.

Nightengale, I think it's denial too, but, it's still wrong to essentially be spitting on someone's grave.

First of all, are there no dentists in England?

That lady is nuts.

Chip: The other injustice is this guy will be isolated from the general inmates for a long time.

Jovane is going in the right direction. Give him the soap on the rope and throw him in with everyone a.s.a.p.

Put yourself in her shoes. If it were my child I would need any alternative theory to cling to that would help me believe my childs innocence in the face of such damning evidence and a unanimous verdict.

Our American system of justice grinds exceedingly slow and I put my faith in the jury system.

fairbrit--no need to feel ashamed--this wasn't the US vs the UK--it was the state of Massachusetts vs Neil Entwistle. I am a direct descendant of the UK-- with many family members still there. My grandmother actually came to the US on the Lusitania, at the age of 5 years old. I am in no way ashamed of my heritage--however, I am a proud American who is even prouder of our judicial system. Thanks for the support. This is a great blog site--feel free to pop in on occasion! :)

Wow, It's not hard to believe that this vile maggot wriggled out of her. It's simply beyond shame that she would say what she did. Just horrid, him and his parents.

Where has Mrs. Entwistle been for the past 2 21/2 years?
She is claiming that she knew Rachel was depressed? Ok, what did she do to help her and protect her grandchild that now she is claiming that Rachel took from her? Can you say denial, just like her son.
Mrs. Entwisle says that her son is going to jail protecting the honor of his wife??!! Maybe he should of gone to her funeral to honor his wife. No, that would not of been fair to Rachel and Lilly.
What a shame, it is great that he got what he deserved, but that does not matter because right now it looks like he doesn't care. Maybe he will care when he gets in there as a convicted murderer of an innocent child and innocent mother.
The only thing wrong here is Neil and his mom should get no more press time. Enough of them claiming to be the victims here.
May Lilly and Rachel rest in peace.

I was absolutely appaled when the defense tried to blame Rachel for killing her baby and herself. Sad. I hope he spends the rest of his life in jail and never sees the outside again. Hopefully, there were no screw ups by the police or prosecution that allow this dirt bag to get out of jail. I was very happy with the verdict. Hopefully he gets a cell with a big girly man (no ofense meant) and he becomes someones "wife".
