Isn't it wonderful to hear, that if things go the way they are going,  the US may be able to pull troops out of  Iraq by the Spring.  Yes wouldn't that be nice to start bringing  the now 156,000 troops home.

Does our Government think that it's people are that gullible to think this is an all together good thing.  Don't get me wrong I would love to see our men and women home from the foreign soil of people that hate us.   Maybe the death toll on a daily bases has gone down, but car bombs and other ingenious killing devices are still be used.

I wasn't born in yesterday's rain!  In one breath you say how things have improved in Iraq,  and than the next how things are worsening in Afghanistan.  Will those returning troops even come home or go straight there? Will a new administration help?  We have been lied to over and over again.  I have said this before and I'll say it again,  we need to stop being the World's babysitter...

The only thing that could be construed as a lie, is Colin Powell. He made the case to the U.N. that Sadam had mobile labs ,making nukes. The fact is, there was bad intelligence, from Britain and the C.I.A.
It is easy to be a Monday morning quarterback ! Clinton insisted Sadam had W.M.D.
With Sadam's track record of refusing U.N. weapon inspections ,and biological weapons, used against Iran and his own people,You can't blame anyone for calling his bluff. Odds are troops leaving Iraq will go to Afganastan. The Iraq army is starting to be able to sustain itself.
I do agree we should shut off ALL foreign aid. SHut off the rest of the world, and let them see What we do for them.
Dave Wwhat do you do for work? You seem to blog 24/7?

As for blogging 24/7, in between Going to Red Sox Games, AA meetings, Dr. Appointments, socializing with friends, Traveling to NY to see a dying mother, Entertaining guest at the Fenwaydav Hotel, Sometimes watching TV and other things I can't think of at the moment I do blog 24/7. I am at the computer alot writing my memoirs. And if it's 90 degrees and 80% humidity, I ain't moving from my Luxurious Air Conditioned Apartment.

All Bush supportors should send their kids over there. What I see happening is they don't want any of our brave, overworked soldiers to return home alive or in one piece!
I questioned the reasons to send our brave soldiers into harms way in Iraq! I and many others have been called unpatriotic for asking for good reasons to ask a fellow American to give his or her life for me!!
Bush and Cheney are criminals! Their cronies ALL benefitted finanncially by their decision to go to destroy Iraq who was no more a threat to this country than Mickey Mouse!

Dave, as much as I'd love to go isolationist, the problem is really Afghanistan. That's where the Taliban is...Remember, the people who really sheltered Bin Laden and al-Qaeda? News has been kinda spotty about the region, but from what I've gleaned amongst the Iraq reporting, the Taliban leaders seem to be like cockroaches. Kill/capture a few, and legions spring up. So while we can make fun of W and yell about being lied to all we want, we need to remember that he did (as much as I don't like the guy, this hurts admitting!) get the declaration of war on Afghanistan right.

Fenway,
according to the news today 7/20/08 they were asked" will we be bringing our troops home
and the answer was " no if we did that it would cause more harm than good, in fact we are going to need more troops for afghanistan.
It's BLEEP, it's been a lie from the begining and we have to just keep living this lie.
When Obie, and Mcain first started they both said "we will end this war and bring everyone home, now they both say We're going to leavethem there and possibly add more
"TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE OF OUR GREAT COUNTRY THE UNITED STATES"
what they should have said was
"WE WILL BE LEAVING AND ADDING MORE TO PROTECT OUR INTRESTS IN ALL THE OIL"
9/11/2001 bIN LAHDEN STRIKES, 7/20/08 WE STILL CAN'T FIND HIM BUT ARE LOOKING EVERYDAY.

YEAH RIGHT

The way I see it...we need that bush idiot out of office as soon as possible but whoever we replace him with cant possibly do any worse or can they?! I think George W Bush will go down in history as one of our worst presidents ever but the trend shouldnt continue and we should not continue to make the president wealthy will all the lives that are lost everyday over in Irag just for the sake of oil. If Bush and all of his cronies are getting so rich from ALL this oil, why do we as american citizens put up with paying such high gas prices?

My son just came back a few months ago. He said the Iraqi people were nicer than most of the Aholes that live here in Massachusetts. I'm guessing he meant your "like-thinking" friends.
