Hey VB they say you will be having a BIG birthday soon. Your old friend Howie would use this to his full advantage and get a little bit of cake (or lobster out of it)

Have a great celebration, you may still be a V but you are no longer a B! ;)

When John McCain's airplane landed in Manchester N.H. there was 1 reporter  and 1 photographer waiting for him. Huh?

I don't get it. He is a major candidate running for the highest office in the land. He is a long serving U.S. Senator, I think he as well as his supporters deserve better than this.

Shame on the mainstream media for fawning over Obama. Becareful what you wish for...

Well I, like 20mil other people watched American Idol last night.

If there is a God David Archuletta will take leave tonight. I don't care what the judges say this kid was HORRIBLE last night. It was uncomfortable watching him attempt to sing a Chris Brown song. When he did the Billy Joel song I cringed. His voice doesn't have any depth. Syesha and David Cook should be in the finals. They have shown versitality and terrific talent.

If I had any say (which of course I don't) Syesha would be headed to Broadway and David Cook would be headed to stardom.

Can't wait for tonight!

To be fair I didn't see Idol last night. I had the thrill of going to the Red Sox game.

When I got up this morning I watched the show on DVR and I must say that it is time for Brooke White to depart.

Lovely girl, lovely voice, unique talent but the pressure is WAY to much for her. She is not cut out for this type of life.

As for the rest, Carly was terrific, Syesha was also good. David Archuletta I personally cannot watch or listen to the little Muppet. Dreadlock Boy was equally bad and should by rights be with Brooke in the bottom 3.

David Cook, in my opinion is the star of this group. I think he takes it all. If by chance he doesn't win ( he will be better off if he doesn't) he will have a huge career if he wants one.

Well we have started down the road of teaching our oldest daughter how to drive.

She has taken her classes and obtained her learners permit. She is very eager to learn and more importantly follow the rules of the road.

When she is driving the SPEED LIMIT people are honking at her, flashing their lights and flipping her off! This is outrageous. The sign says 30 and thats what she does and people are hostile.

Does anyone know of a sign that can be put in the rear window of our auto that lets the jerks on the road know that a Junior Operator is behind the wheel and they might want to cut them some slack?

Well it would seem that Fidel is out in Cuba and change is most certainly in the air. Castro has been in power for 49 years and has seen many of our leaders come and go. He outlasted them all, much to the surprise of many.

I am interested to see what happens to the nation of Cuba now. Yes, I know that his brother is taking over the leadership, but for how long?

I see a young man or woman with a vision coming in and restoring democracy to this tiny little nation.

Does anyone know how old Elian Gonzalez is now?

O.K. they have gone too far now. The health inspector in Salem, MA has ruled that citizens can no longer bake goodies to be sold at bake sales. She is citing that these cookies, cakes, brownies etc... are being cooked up in uninspected kitchens. Well duh!

The particular bake sale she ruled on was the one that was to be held as a fund raiser for the Salem Senior Center. This is absolutely ridiculous. I would even go as far as to say that my mothers "uninspected" kitchen is cleaner than 99% of the "inspected" restaurant kitchens in Salem. What will they take away next? People should be allowed to make their own decisions as to whether they want to eat something baked in an unknown kitchen or not. Shame on this inspector and all of those who are sure to follow.

Please take a minute and say a little prayer for Dapper O'Neill . He was a one of a kind and there will never be a ploitician like him again.

He was the best. A true "Paddy" who thought being politically correct was going to every wake he could on any given night.

RIP Dap, you deserve to sleep well and rest now.

I have been driving in this state for 25 years. My biggest pet peeve is the yield on left rule. People simply do not obey this law. It makes me CRAZY! If you are taking a left, unless there is an arrow YOU MUST YIELD TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC!

Thank you, I feel better now.

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving holiday.I certainly did. Now it is full speed  til Christmas. I spent "Black Friday" with family and friends because according to all of the news reports it was crazy out there. Maybe it was, I enjoyed a nice lunch in Newburyport instead. I did venture out this morning trolling for a few sale items that my teenagers had requested and remarkably everywhere I went I was able to get parking fairly close. There wasn't any traffic and the lines in the stores weren't very long.

Is all this madness being manufactured by the news media and retailers? Are more people shopping on line or are they simply waiting until the weekend before Christmas when the deep discounts are there? What about the after holiday rush? I have always found it to be busier than the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Joey Kramer is quoted in the Improper Bostonian as saying he is uninspired by U2 and thinks they are overrated!

Really Mr. Kramer I understand that you are entitled to your opinion but perhaps someone from a rock group who made their best music  when they were all still doing drugs should keep his opinion to himself.

Congratulations to Dustin Pedroia on winning theROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD for the AL.

He played hard for the Sox this year, come to find out he played hurt the final two months and he had a huge part in the Sox winning the Championship.

With Youkilis last week winning the Gold Glove and Beckett almost a shoe in for the Cy Young tomorrow Boston is truley a championship team!

Now I am all for personal freedom BUT in my opinion anyone who would name a new baby FENWAY is a little bit nutty.

Did the parents even think about this child's future? What is he going to do when applying for a job? What about the other children in school who will probably make fun of his name.

Such a big burden for a little guy. Seriously, if these parents liked the name so much they should have bought a dog a named him Fenway!

August, sweet August with your purple heather on the marsh and your multicolored sunsets. Why can't it be August all year round?
